The sudden shake of thunder rattles the walls around Sweet Velvet and her husband, Night Thunder. Never had Sweet Velvet been in so much pain. The feeling was absolutely indescribable. That pain, ripping on her innards, just catastrophic to the relatively young mare. As she slowly felt consciousness ebbing away, she screamed as the contractions were completely unbearable. For a minute, there was silence. Then the spasms and convulsions began again, suddenly startling Night Thunder. He bowed his head and softly whispered, "Dear Celestia, please don't let her die. Just...don't let her die."
Gradually the convulsions stopped and Nurse Red Heart, who had come all the way from Ponyville to help with this birth, said, "Oh my Celestia, Oh my...Its a boy." Night Thunder, barely hearing Nurse Red Heart over the newborn colt, said, "What's wrong, is something wrong with him?"
Nurse Red Heart slowly said, "I'm not sure, but I think we should tell Princess Celestia immediately."
Night Thunder slowly got up and a blast of realization struck him right in the heart. Not only was the colt not like him or Sweet Velvet, but he realized that his wife's eyes were slowly glazing over, the color draining of her skin.
Out of pure anger, Night Thunder quickly snatched the colt from Nurse Red Heart and ran. As he was running through the streets of South Phillydelphia, a sudden thought hit his pain-filled heart. He could find the next train to Canterlot, ask one of the guards to take the baby to Princess Celestia. Yes, it would work and she would know what to do with him.
As night slowly faded to dawn, Night Thunder heard his train number called and walked towards the train, the young pony was now in Night Thunder's satchel, utterly asleep. As the line progressed towards the train, he became impatient and said, "What's taking so long up there," to the person in front of him.
His reply came from behind him. As he wheeled around, he was astonished to see that the answer came from no pony other than Celestia herself. She immediately asked, "May I see him, please."
All Night Thunder could do was say "Yes," and hand over the satchel.
As Celestia opened the satchel, she almost dropped the bag as she realized Nurse Red Heart truly meant that "This is Important and now."
