Chapter One
Death, decay, destruction, and so forth came from the Empire on its most unfathomable and vigorous days. The screeching, wailing, juddering cries that reigned throughout the Empire was able to be heard from Solintusde to Scantterfold. The escape from the Empire's greatest threats was as impossible as trying to live in it.
There was the West Empire and the East Empire, all of which was divided by the miraculous and God-woven River of Kluut. The West Empire consisted of vicious people – if "people" were to be the right word to call them – that slaughtered and beheaded anyone who wronged them. Their attitude was awfully dire to a point were awfully dire could be considered an option of death. Being stuck on the West Empire meant something, either you die knowing you're in the wrong territory or you live to tell the tale and barely keep your sanity, and yet, those who have lost their sanity die anyways.
The East Empire was peaceful and rarely any trouble occurred on this side of the River of Kluut. Although bandits were known to be of some trouble here in the East Empire, the major East Empire city districts would take care of that with their large and numerous band of soldiers ready for anything. The calm attitudes of the East Empire soothed throughout and let it be known that no vast troubles would come to halt the East Empire's reign. The sweet sap of trees to the clear drops of morning dew on the blades of grass just told a small portion of the East Empire's civility and peacefulness.
The calm and soft vibration of the East Empire drew up emotions for those who lived within. Calm is the forest to each direction of the East Empire, for the vibrant and lively colors of the sky had touched the trees with a quick whisper of reassurance and comfort across the eastern lands. The stones and pebbles that lay across all steps of each pathway are held with such care and ease by the many blades of grass and the many supportive beams of the Gods' mighty land. The East Empire was always sleeping, silently and profoundly. Nothing could interrupt the great orchestra that which plays an enchanting symphony of the patterns of mountains and plains and forests, as well as the sweet slumber of the eastern lands.
Scantterfold, the wealthiest and most populated city district on the eastern lands, holds many and multiple waves of shops and shopkeepers and merchants and traders and suppliers that handle business actions on the dime. Scantterfold is the capital of the East Empire and is owner to three villages south and east of the city district: Aardsvark, Nuusterfold, and Salphidious.
Aardsvark, the poorest and least populated and useless village under ownership to the city district of Scantterfold, was home to many farms and herds and many farmers and herders that which associated with those farms and herds. Crops and herbs such as wheat, barley, corn, carrots, cabbage, potatoes and radishes were raised and harvested here in the small village of Aardsvark. Animals and herds such as pigs, cattle, goats, sheep, and chickens were as well raised here in Aarsdvark.
Although poor and dreary, Aardsvark was surrounded by many forests of trees for the children to go play in. The forest, dancing with winds that breeze through the trees and blow leaves around like a festival. The trees shook left and right in a soothing and calm motion with the winds. The winds made whistling noises through the large population of pine trees and bushes, that, in a sense, made it look like the forest was singing songs of peace and civility. The sights of Aardsvark were a miraculous thing to see and was one of the greatest gifts the Gods had planted upon the eastern lands.
Nuusterfold, the most populated and wealthiest village under the ownership of Scantterfold, was home to many musicians and musical instruments. If one were to just only pass through Nuusterfold, the outstanding symphony of harps and viols and lutes and flutes would be dancing in the winds and filling the souls of people with enlightenment and energy to do what it is they think they could not do before.
