My Adventurous Sister

Chapter 2- Setting up the Tent

Before Sapphire met Fang outside, she decided to pack her bag as if she was going on an adventure or camping. She packed a sleeping bag, a tent, water bottles, canned food, & a pillow. After that, she went outside to meet her sister. "Ok, Sapphire, did you pack everything in that I told you to pack?" "Yes ma'am." "Ok, good! So, we need to set up the tent because, look." Fang points at the direction of clouds coming toward them. "We need to build quickly as possible. I'll teach you how to set it up." Fang explains to Sapphire

    "I haven't set up a tent in a while. Sapphire, can you hand me the instructions, please?" Sapphire nods & hands her the booklet. Fang reads over the instructions remembering & relearning how to build a tent. "Ok, Sapphire, there are two ways to build a tent. One is just using wooden bolts." Fang explains. "Like these ones?" Sapphire asks while picking up one. "Yeah, those guys." "And the other one is just to complicated to explain & to build." "What do you mean? How is it complicated? Do you have to build it?" "Yeah, you have to build it. Like a blueprint or something." "What's a blueprint?" Sapphire asks. 'Ugh, why does Sapphire have a dumb side? Does her school even teach her how to camp? To be far, I don't think they would. I feel bad for the kids that go to school & want to go on adventures.' "A blueprint is a plan for buildings or construction. It shows you how to build it, so you can learn & build it yourself or with any help." Sapphire learned it very quickly. She's always a quick learner even when she's at school. "Hey Sapphire, does your school teach you camping & how to do it? Not to be rude." "Sadly, no. I wish they did so I know how to do it & be advanced as you." Fang was furious at the school that Sapphire went to. All schools should at least teach them about camping.
'If the school is trying to be safe, I guess, but they should have like a training course or something.' Fang thought. Fang needs to teach Sapphire quickly, before the storm comes. "Ok, Sapphire, are you ready?" "Yeah I am!" 'Fang is the best sister ever! I will be brave! I will fight! Wait, will Fang teach me how to fight during the adventure?' Sapphire thought. "Ok, so you need to lay the tent down first, make sure its completely flat. Next, you need to put the bolts in the hoops. Do you know where the hoops are?" "Yep, they're in the corners!" "Yep, good job! Wait, did you pack a hammer?" 'Did I pack a hammer?' "No, I don't think so, let me check." "Yeah, I might check as well." They both checked their bags, every zipper that they had managed to fit their supplies with. 'Let's see, I have 15 water bottles, my sleeping bag, my tent, 45 canned food (15 breakfast, 15 lunch, & 15 dinner), my 5 foot sword, my shield, & my bag for all the riches. I think I'm good to go. Let's hope Sapphire can find a weapon in some caves we might find.' "Sapphire, are you good to go?" "Yeah, I have a hammer!" "Yes!" Fang mumbles with excitement. "What type of hammer?" "Umm..here, let me show you." Sapphire walks over to Fang to show here the hammer. Fang observes the hammer. "Is it heavy for you?" "Yeah, pretty heavy." "Perfect! That's a mallet!" "Really?" "Yeah! A mallet is a...well, not the strongest hammer, but it's strong enough to punch the bolts into the hoops." Sapphire wonders why the hammer is not strong, but it can punch the bolts. She forgets about it & asks what the next step is.
"Ok, what's the next step?" "The next step is, to put the bolts in & start hammering, here, since your weaker than me, I'll hammer them in." Fang grabs the bolts from the floor, & the mallet from Sapphire's hand. She started punching the bolts in the hoops. She finished them in 5 minutes.
  The storm was coming quick! Sapphire decided to help. She grabbed the instructions & learned quickly. She grabbed the wire & stuck it in the part were it was supposed to go. Fang helped her out. "How did you know how to build a tent?" "I read the instructions quickly & started building. The storm is coming quick! I wanted to help. I'm creative, smart, & quick." Fang let her help her with the tent. She looked at the sky & noticed the clouds gradually getting closer. They each put the wire in the hole of the tent. Then, they pulled the tent up & continued putting wire in.
---------A Few Minutes Later--------
They finished putting the tent together. The clouds rolled over the finished tent & started to rain. "We should get inside." said Fang. "Yep, totally agree with you." They both grabbed their bags & quickly went inside. "Tomorrow, we'll go on a hike, then go to the gym so you can exercise. After that, we'll head home rest, get water, then after dinner, we can have a fire & roast marshmallows. How about that?" 'Aw, I didn't know you had to exercise to go on adventures. But if it only takes that marshmallow.' Sapphire thought to herself. "Ok, I'll do it. For the marshmallow."
