Crescent lives in a world full of chaos fueled by different species. From humans to cyborgs to witches and everything in between, her planet lacks only one thing. Peace. While a veil of false security and peace lies over the world, Crescent has learnt to know better.

There are three main species that populate Crescent's planet. Humans, cyborgs and witches. Many other species exist but they are considered minorities compared to the sheer amount of the humans, cyborgs and witches.

Witches

Crescent herself is considered to be part of a minority. She is part of the non-traditional witches category. Traditional witches are those whose ancestral lines are made of relatives born and made of magic. Non-traditional witches however, are those whose ancestral lines contain no trace of magic and have no relatives who are in fact witches.

Non-traditional witches are considered both oddities and more powerful than normal witches due to their rarity and potent magic. When Crescent discovered her powers as a child, she was more than keen and comfortable in taking part in and learning all there was about magic. This led to her discovery of being both an eclectic and solitary witch. She became an individual that approaches and that picks and chooses from many different traditions and creates a personalized form of witchcraft that meets her individual needs and abilities.

She is a solitary witch. This means Cress does not end up with a coven as she finds she works better by herself. This does not mean in any shape or form that she cannot work in a group. It is quite the opposite. Cress is capable enough that if she were to be in a coven she would be either the Leader or 2nd in command. However her eclectic ways influence her work ethic and she is a firm believer that her work ethic and way of approaching things may not suit the people she could work with. So she makes it very clear that while she is very willing to help covens and groups of people in general she will not permanently join a coven. She is fine with joining a group of different people and species. Just not covens.

Crescent is very much a night owl which is why she practices the Lunar type of witchcraft. Ever since she was little she was fascinated with the moon, stars and the night sky due to her nocturnal energy spikes. This passion only grows when she discovers her powers. As a witch that practices the lunar type of witchcraft, she honours the moon and its energy and phases and uses its power. She is also one to favor casting magic during the night hours rather than during the day.

Finally, Crescent specialises in death or more commonly known as Necromancy. Her magical abilities revolve around manipulating the dead, death, the life-force and/or souls for good, evil or neither. Crescent can also communicate with the deceased – either by summoning their spirit as an apparition or raising them bodily – for the purpose of divination, imparting the means to foretell future events or discover hidden knowledge.

She uses spirits to empower herself, hoards bones, uses graveyards, graves, the spirits of them, as well as the dirt (or even plants) that are found in them. She is very strict and thorough about honouring the dead. This is because she believes the dead need to be left in peace after she works with them. If a spirit of the dead does not want to work with her she will usually try to persuade it as much as she thinks is respectable and if they still refuse she will let them rest again. Her weakness as a Necromancer is Animancy and other Life-Based powers.

Cyborgs

There are many types of cyborgs. Normal citizens, military service and even elite government controlled cyborgs that act as special operatives.

The humans are a bit twisted and sometimes they take humans who they believe are not good enough in their society/not contributing enough and uses them without their accord. They usually force them to undergo surgical operations in order to become different types of cyborgs that the government can use. They usually tend to be homeless people.

The JU.CYBORGS have been specially built by the humans to keep control and dominance over their continent. The humans developed technology that would counter and/or suppress the magical powers of those who possessed it and were deemed enough of a threat. This technology consisted of volunteers having a surgical operation that removed their original hands and one eye. The eye lets them scan people to see if they have any magical abilities as well as to see their criminal status. The arms of the JU.CYBORGS can absorb magical energy, power and other forms of magic, while removing it from the source, into their body and use it in various ways, gaining some form of advantage, either by enhancing themselves, gaining the drained power, using it as power source, either temporarily or permanently.
