Tira was sound asleep, just dreaming. She was soon shaken and jolted upright. She saw her friend, Lakshe, standing above her. "Lakshe, what are you doing? It's seven in the morning," Tira groaned.
"It's a snow day!" Lakshe squealed. Tira's eyes widened and she gasped, jumping out of bed.
"Dude, we have to go play in the snow!"
"Well, get dressed and we will!" The girls both got ready to go outside, making sure they had the essentials and were bundled up. Lakshe giggled at the sight of Tira and patted the head of the slightly shorter and slightly older girl. Tira pouted and felt a little bout of butterflies.
She ignored them.
Lakshe grabbed Tira's hand and dragged her outside. "Come on, you goose," Lakshe laughed. Tira loved the sound of her friend laughing. It made her feel warm, even on a cold day like this one.
The duo finally made it outside and took in the still glory of the snow. "Wow, it's gorgeous," Tira gasped. Lakshe grabbed her hand gently and said "Not as gorgeous as you."
Tira's eyes widened and she blushed. "Thanks, Lakshe," Tira stammered. The pair locked eyes and a little spark fluttered between them. Tira acted like she didn't notice it, but it wouldn't go away, even after both girls looked away with blushing smiles.
"Hey, I have a special thing for you...would you mind going over there for a second?" Lakshe pointed to a tree about 30 feet away. Tira, who was admittedly nervous, nodded and skipped over to the designated area. Lakshe picked up a stick and seemed to be making something. Knowing her, it was art. "Art made by art, what a concept," Tira thought.
After fifteen minutes of sitting at the tree, Lakshe nervously called Tira over. When Tira made her way over, she gasped.
For in gorgeous cursive, it read Tira, will you be my girlfriend?
Tira gawked at the writing for a minute, Lakshe nervously wrung her hands.
"I know you're probably going to say no, but I just...gah, I don't know. I've liked you for a long time and I don't even know what got into me," Lakshe rambled.
"Lakshe," Tira whispered.
"Yeah?" Lakshe turned to face the other girl. Tira looked up at Lakshe for five seconds and jumped up to kiss her, wrapping her arms around Lakshe's neck. Lakshe was taken aback and wrapped her arms around Tira's back. The two stayed that way for about thirty seconds, Lakshe then pulled away.
"Is that a yes?" She askes hopefully.
Tira nodded enthusiastically. "It's a hell yes."
Hi, it's Tira. I liked writing this one. It felt cute. Hope y'all enjoy.
