Your POV.

A week. One whole week has passed from what happened with Joey. I haven't heard from him since then. Maybe it's best if things stay this way. Distance is always good, right? Yeah.. He just needs to calm down.

"Y/n? You okay?" Skylar asked as she cleaned the table.

Oh, I also got a job as a waitress in this burger joint not too far from where I live. I've been working here for a few days- it's not the best but hey, it's a job. Can't complain. Skylar is a waitress as well, she usually takes the night shifts but I'm glad she came in early today, I really don't feel like myself. I needed company.

"Uh, yeah! Of course." I replace the napkin barrel and salt shakers from a table. "Just- I need to clear my head."

"Mhm, what's wrong? Boy trouble?" Skylar was a bit older than me by a few years though she did not look it. I shake my head.

"Not really, he's a friend.. well if I can still call him that."

I take the dirty dishes to the back and place them in to the sink, she follows behind.

"What happened?"

"I don't know, he's just overreacting. He got mad at me for going a long with advice on how to get him to confess his so called feelings towards me. But he took it the wrong way once I told him it was planned." She gave me a puzzled look. "Its complicated to explain."

I head back out to the diner watching a family come in. "I'll be with you in a minute." Skylar smiled at them.

"You guys had a thing?"

"No.. we just kissed. I still don't even know if it was just because of jealousy or-" I sigh and set the rag down. I really needed to rest. "Or if he really meant it. If he really does like me."

Skylar placed her hand on to my shoulder, "Hey, don't stress too much over it, m'kay? If he cares, hey he'll come an apologize. But you can't expect this to clear up in just a few days. It takes time and during that time have fun, live a little."

"Yeah... I know." I tap the pencil on the notepad. She's right- I can't keep myself down. Joey and I weren't even a thing. Just friends.

"A friend of mine is having a party tonight, why don't you come along? Meet someone new and forget about 'him'. Let me know." She patted my back and I give a faint smile in return as she left to get the family's order.

I don't want to forget about Joey, I think I may never forget about him. But I won't be a sad glob, crying over some guy I barely met a few weeks ago. Although, those weeks have been the best..

Stop.

I walk to the register as someone was about to pay for their meal they had. I hand them their change. Skylar placed the order to the front window behind me.

"So, what time did you say the party was going to start?"

Joey's POV.

"I think I'm going to end the video here, I really need to clean up all of these Orbeez off the fricking floor which I know will take forever, again! Thank you all for watching. Make sure you hit the subscribe button" I force a smile and say my goodbye to the camera. Getting out of the tub filled with Orbeez and water, I dry myself and put on dry clothes. I grab my laptop and begin to edit the video.

I'm interrupted about an hour in to editing by my phone going off, "hello?"

"Joey, hey. Are you busy tonight?" Colleen asked, haven't spoken with her in awhile.

"Hmm, I don't think so. Why?" I rub my temple, I have a headache from my eyes being glued to the screen. That and over thinking a few things.

"Great! Cause I was gonna ask if you wanted to come to a party that I'm hosting- well me and a few other friends. It's gonna be big."

I wasn't really in a party mood, I haven't actually been in any mood for anything at all. Sawyer and I made up after that whole thing that happened. But I couldn't bring myself to talking to y/n again. I desperately wanted to text her through out the days we weren't speaking but I didn't have the proper words yet. What was I suppose to tell her? That I was sorry for being the biggest asshole to her because of my jealousy? I'll sound selfish and stupid.

"Joey?"

"Sorry.. I was- editing." I shake my head and clear my throat. "The party, right. Sure I'll come. What time is it gonna start?"

"7:45, so I'll be seeing you tonight, right?" I chuckle at her quirkiness.

"For sure."
