When Jinyoung arrived at the café he could already see Jisoo from outside. He went in and took a seat right across her. "Hey," he said and smiled to hide his nervousness. He was usually straightforward and blunt but somehow he got shy now sitting across Jisoo who smiled at him too. "Hey," she responded and Jinyoung could feel like they were sharing the shyness. A minute passed and they were silently looking at each other before Jinyoung remembered the actual reason they had met. "Oh," he suddenly said, fishing the recipe out of his jacket pocket. "Here's the recipe of the strawberry cake," he said handing it to her. The girl took it with a big smile on her face. "Thank you," she said studying it. "I think I'll make it tomorrow so I'll go get the ingredients.." She then looked up to him and it took Jinyoung a moment to answer. "Do you maybe want me to accompany you? I got some preferred brands I use that I could recommend." Jisoo smiled and nodded. "That'd be great," she said and with that the two left the café to head to the convenience store.
After they had gotten all the needed ingredients they went on their way back home. "So you know Jackson from college?" Jinyoung asked to break the silence. Jisoo nodded. "So do you, right?" She asked in response. "Actually I know him since high school," the boy said. "When he came to Korea with zero Korean knowledge," he added with a smile. "It's amazing how good he speaks nowadays. I'm really proud of him." He furthermore said and Jisoo smiled at him. "Do you maybe want to come over to my place to make the cake?" She eventually asked after another minute of silence. Jinyoung was surprised but nodded at her with a shy smile. "I'd love to," he said as they made their way to Jisoo's apartment.
When they arrived and took their shoes of Jinyoung eyed the room. It was a small apartment with three rooms, all in white and mostly neat. He then noticed some Jordan's standing at the door next to some way smaller looking shoes. Could be her brothers shoes, he thought to himself, suppressing the feeling of something being wrong. "This way," Jisoo guided him pointing to a small kitchen where they then started to prepare the cake."Here we got the strawberries," the girl said with an extremely high but sweet sounding voice. She playfully put them next to the mixing bowl, took one and pretended it walked to the bowl itself. Jinyoung chuckled as he saw the grown up playing like this. It was kind of cute. He then took it and cut off the greenery. "I killed it," he said with big eyes making the girl laugh. After the cake was ready and chilling in the fridge they cleaned up the mess they had made. While Jisoo was cleaning the dishes, Jinyoung dried them. "Oh no I think I put too much dish soap," the girl suddenly exclaimed and as the boy looked to his left he saw foam coming up, hovering around in the air and getting on their heads. "Oh my," he said as he couldn't believe what was going on. "You're so clumsy, pabo," he then said to the girl, tapping her shoulder and shook his head in disappointment. The girl blushed and looked down, suddenly looking sad. "I'm sorry," she quietly said and with that Jinyoung realized that he sounded more serious than he had intended to. His eyes got wider as he put his hands on Jisoo's shoulders letting out a quick "no no" and as she looked up to him he smiled at her. "I didn't mean it like this," he said giving her an apologetic smile and placed a bit of foam on her nose. A big smile formed the shorter ones lips as she tiptoed towards him and also placed some foam onto his face. They both laughed and went on cleaning the dishes.
As the dishes were clean and both were sitting in the living room Jisoo suddenly stood up. "I'm hungry," the girl let out whiningly and looked to Jinyoung who was still calmly sitting on the couch. "Well the cake isn't completely set ye-" the boy said but was interrupted by Jisoo who was already out of the room and walking towards the kitchen. He quickly stood up and walked after her. "It still needs time to firm up," he said looking at the girl who was standing in front of the fridge taking out the plate with the fresh cake on it. "Just a little piece," she said with this sweet voice and puppy eyes. Jinyoung sighed. "Fine," he eventually said and came closer to her brining her plate and fork. As they went back to the living room, both with a piece of cake on their plate Jinyoung realized that he really couldn't resist the girl's cuteness. He eyed her from the side and watched her eating the cake letting out "hmms" and ahhs" as he silently sighed and started eating too. They ate in silence and after both had finished their cake Jisoo let out a satisfied "this was great". She looked at him and their eyes met. "You have no clue how happy this makes me," she then said. "You're like a professional cook," she added making the boy blush and smile shyly. "I'm flattered but I really am not that good", he said looking at her and then to the empty plates. There was silence before Jinyoung spoke again. "Then you're like a professional cutie," he said making the girl blush and her eyes widen as she squealed. When he realized what he had said he also got big eyes and put a hand on his head while closing his eyes to escape this embarrassing moment. "I'm so sorry," he said. "I didn't-," as he wanted to go on he suddenly got interrupted by the sound of keys unlocking the door and a male voice hovering through the air. "I'm back," the voice said and came closer as Jinyoung was suddenly looking at a young but tall man who was just walking into the living room. "Jagi-" he said but stopped with a surprised look on his face when he saw Jinyoung. "Wait, who are you?" He then asked looking at Jinyoung. "I'm Jinyoung," he introduced himself, "but who are you?" He added. The boy smirked a little before answering. "I'm Bobby," he then said. "Her boyfriend," he added.
