Don't Go

Sammy is sitting on her bed staring at the ceiling.

Geoff walks in and asks,”Hey, you gonna go out to the bar with the rest of us tonight?”

“No.” she replies looking over trying not to sit up, “I’m too tired and I just wanna hang out and maybe call my friend Annie, back in Delaware, on Skype.”

”Ok, Gavin isn’t going either so it will just be you two here tonight, You might need to be our drive home since Gavin doesn’t have his driver’s license yet.” He says with a smile

“ok” she says back then sitting up and walking over to her laptop.

Sammy grabs her laptop then walks back over to her bed. She sits down with the laptop on her lap and her head agents he head board. She puts in her headphones and goes into her play-list of songs. She plays the first son in her play-list, Red Jumpsuit Apparatus – Facedown, and goes into Facebook. She starts talking to old friends like Sam Miller and Molly Townsend.

Sam has become very successful with building computers and has a beautiful wife named Kate.

Molly is now boyfriend and girlfriend with her crush and has started thinking about getting a job as a lawyer.

Sammy smiles and starts to whisper the lyrics of the song, as it replays.

“Hey, girl, you know you drive me crazy one look puts the rhythm in my hand. Still I'll never understand why you hang around I see what's going down.” She doesn’t notice Gavin standing at the door of her bedroom staring in at her. She starts to get a little louder, “Cover up with makeup in the mirror tell yourself, it's never gonna happen again you cry alone and then he swears he loves you!” Gavin notices what song she is singing and sings with her, Sammy is still oblivious to him standing there, “Do you feel like a man when you push her around? Do you feel better now as she falls to the ground? Well, I'll tell you my friend, one day this world's gon' to end as your lies crumble down, a new life she has found!” she stops and looks over, ”Oh My God!!!!!!!!!” she screams as she pulls out her headphones feeling embarrassed

” W-was I loud?”

“Very, yes” Gavin says in his cute British accent with a slight giggle.

“What, you doing?” he says seeing she is embarrassed

“Just stuff.” She says with a giggle pulling her headphones out of the open laptop.

Gavin looks at the laptop and sees Skype open, “Were you about to call someone?”

“Yea, my friend Annie, you wanna meet her?” Sammy says looking over at Gavin with a smile

“Yea! I would love to!” he says teasingly pushing her

“No, she isn’t single, she has a boyfriend named Mitch!”

“Oh, Ok” he then says teasingly getting back up and sitting back down when Sammy says, “You butt” and both sharing a laugh

Sammy clicks the profile with the picture of Annie with her legend of Zelda shirt on and her “smite me” stance. The couple seconds of silence from the “calling Annie” screen was unbearable, so to break the awkward silence Gavin asks how long Sammy and Annie have been friends

“since the first day of 1st grade! She means everything to me! She is my BEST friend in the entire world!”

Then the both of them hear “Hello!” come from the screen. They both point their attention at the screen where Annie is now smiling and waving.
