It is cloudy and rainy as I open the car door to the new house which is in York Maine. As I was looking out the car window, I could tell it was a beautiful town. The house takes my breath away as I look at it. It has a three car garage with a gorgeous stone exterior. It looks like it has three floors and the windows are different sizes and shapes. . My mouth hangs open in awe and my feet seem to be stuck to the pavement of the driveway. I feel someone punch me in the arm and look to see it is my sister. I laugh and look at the ground.

"Stop looking at the house like you look at pizza." My sister jokes smiling evilly. I laugh and before I can say anything else the door to the house opens. I see my grandmother waving at us and ushering us to come see her. I walk to the door and I am still managing to keep a smile on my face as I approach my grandmother who has her arms wide open, embracing my sister in a hug. After they are done hugging she comes up to me and gives me a hug too.

"Hello darlings! I am really happy that you are here! The house just gets so lonely by myself, you know." She says, trying to be positive. We smile in return.

"Why don't you take your shoes off and I will show you around?" Grandmother suggests, so we take off our shoes. The first room we enter besides the foyer where we just were, is the study. The study has been set up with two desks on either sides of the room, each with its own bookcases and stationary items. Then I suddenly remember our luggage in the car.

"Grandma, we still have our stuff in the car." I tell her. She shook her head.

"The servant Bernard has already gotten your suitcases and put them in  your assigned rooms. Don't worry about a thing." She explains. I nod as if having a personal servant is a normal thing.

"Anyways, this is where you two will do your homework and other work related things." Grandmother continues clearly wanting to go do other things.

"Actually, Grandmother. I think we both would like to explore the house by ourselves." My sister, Eva, stands up for both of us, saying exactly what I was thinking. My grandma nods.

"Of course, of course. You do whatever you want sweethearts. Okay? You will find me in my bedroom if you need me." Grandma says leaving the study, clearly knowing when she's not wanted. I sigh, feeling relieved. I look at Eva and see she's looking at the door clenching her fists. I walk up to her and put a hand on her shoulder.

"Eva, lets just go look around. We need to keep our minds off of this. Okay?" I try and convince her. She looks at me with a loving smile and takes my hand. We walk out of the study. We both walk into the grand dining room which is the biggest dining room I've ever seen. The next room is the kitchen which is huge. A big island and the newest appliances. I shake my head and go to the next room which is the breakfast room which I never even had at my old house. The family room is the next room. The family room consists of a big flat screen television and two couches. It looks very not lived in. I see a sign on a door which says Grandma's Room so I decide to avoid that room. The final two rooms are me and Eva's room. There a pieces of paper stuck on each door saying whose room it is since they are right across the hall from each other. My room is on the left, hers is on the left. She quickly goes into her room and closes the door. I open the door to my room.

My room has a loft bed with a television and sofa. The room doesn't really have a theme, but it is mostly all black. Black bed-sheets, curtains, sofa and even the picture frames were black. I see my suitcases in the corner and decide not to put my clothes in my dresser just yet. But, I do take out the picture of my mom and dad and put it on my dresser, along with the picture of my best friend, Gina. A flood of memories suddenly come to me. Me and Gina racing with skateboards, mom and I baking cookies. Dad and I fishing together at the creek downtown, all of those memories and more. I shake my head and try and get myself to sit down. No more memories, this is my new life. That Noah, is the Noah of the past.
