"Madeline Nicole Parker! Get down here right now!"
And that's when you know you're in trouble. When you're called by your full name.
"Coming!"
I yelled back at my father, racing down the steps. I slowed down on my way to the kitchen.. afraid why I was in trouble.
"Yes?"
"Maddy, you burnt the Red Velvet cupcakes, look at them! You set the fire alarm off earlier!" Dad declared.
"Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry Dad I forgot all about it and th--"
I tried to finish, but he cut me off.
"It's fixed now, but you need to be much more careful with it next time okay?" I nodded and headed upstairs. I knew I should've been more careful, but what can I say, I'm not a professional baker like he is. I wanted to be an artist, not a baker. It's not my fault he asked me to bake a batch of cupcakes for the neighbors.
