Vision Stirring, Staggering to my dead feet, I was unable to move. I was unaware of where I was, why I was there and how I got there. I was surrounded by dark concrete walls on all sides, blank walls- spare a cobweb- covered window. I finally regained full consciousness, and was alarmed to discover that I was trapped.
My name is Aubrey white. I grew up in a Suburban neighbourhood in Seattle, not far from the city, a street where everyone's house's are completely identical, inside and out, so basically, in our town, no one is even slightly unique- it's like living in the town in Edward Sissorhands, without the dark, spooky castle. Well, apart from that house across the street...., but I'll get to that later. I seem like the perfect girl to everyone- Never had a single detention in high school, will continue the family business and am a responsible "Young lady." To me though, babysitting the twins next door, and doing volunteering for the community, isn't truly how I want my life to end up. I long to travel the world, write novels, and most importantly, discover my true self. No more will I be Little Miss Perfect, for now I will be the Mysterious Adventurer or what not.
It was a late mid summer evening, I was helping my Parents unload groceries from the car, Slamming the car door shut, I stumbled into the kitchen. The unusual silence was sickening to me. I had a second to glance behind me, yet just had a split second to make out a boulder like object smashing towards my skull. All was black.
Thats where I come to now, Laying on a unusually cold stone floor, alone, isolated from the outside world, clueless to all. Suddenly recovered, I was able to shove myself up onto my feet, Walking just a few steps, my eyes were drifted to a tattered note in the centre of the room. Cautiously, I lifted up the paper, and my eyes were taken aback by the Large, bright lettering- most likely cutout from a magazine- reading "Wake me up." Confused and Startled, I stumbled backwards, then almost tumbled over something hard that hit the bottom of my foot. It was a key. Where for? Taking a good look around the room- it would only be possible to be for the window. I hurried franticly towards it, lead by the small amount of light it shed, still puzzled from the note, but prioritising my escape.
