Hi. I'm Isabelle Jett. Let me tell you a little but about myself. To start off, I'm not considered "popular" at school. I have only one friend. Her name is Zoe. I live in Orlando, Florida. I have long, dark brown, straight hair, and I have green eyes, and I'm short. I live in a large house with my mom, dad, and my younger brother Luke. Lastly, I'm in love. Not with anyone at my school, but viners. The MagCon guys, to be exact. Especially Carter. Even his name makes my heart skip a beat.
Anyway, Zoe and I were sitting on my bed, just talking about life, when my mom came into my room.
"Izz, we need to talk." She says.
"About what?"
"Zoe should leave, so it'll just be you, me, dad and Luke."
"Umm, okay."
I turn and look at Zoe.
"Uhh, I guess I'll see you later Zoe."
She gets up.
"Okay, bye."
She grabs her phone and she goes out the door. My mom motions her hand for me to come here. I get up and follow her. We end up going to the living room. Everyone is sitting in there. Luke on the floor, dad on the couch. Mom and I sat on the couch.
"Okay, well. I know this will make you sad, but we have to move." Mom says.
"What?! Why?! To where??" I ask
"Calm down. Dad is getting a job transfer, and we have to move, to..."
She faded away.
"To North Carolina. We have to move to North Carolina." Dad says.
I feel like crying. I may not be very know here, but I will sure miss it here. Especially Zoe. She has been my best friend for as long as I can remember.
"Are you serious?!" Luke asks
Mom nods her head.
This time, I let a tear out.
"Don't cry honey." Mom said
"How do I not cry?! I'll be leaving my only friend, I'll be leaving the place I grew up, and-"
Then I suddenly realized. Carter Reynolds lives in North Carolina. This was crazy. I started to calm down. I was still crying, but not as hard. Maybe I could meet him? Who knows?
"We'll be moving at the end of this month." Dad says.
I go upstairs and call Zoe and tell her the news. She starts breaking down in tears, as well as I do. We talk for about 45 minutes, then we hang up. I decide to go through our photo albums, just to look back at memories. I have pages labeled, as well as pictures. One page says, 'Kindergarten' I look through all the pictures of us. I remember all of these days. I continue looking through the pictures, and I get to 'First year of Junior High'
"This should be good." I tell myself.
I look through all the pictures there, I see our first dance. We were both standing next to our boyfriends. I let out a big breath.
"Memories." I think.
I can't believe all of this will change. I'm going to be moving away, I'll make new friends, I may forget about Zoe after a few months. Depends on how people like me at my new school. If I'm as popular there as I am here, I'll NEVER forget about Zoe. But if people love me there, I guess we'll see what happens.
