It's Time to Talk

The door to my room opens. I look up from my computer and see that it's Katy. "Hey" she says "You haven't come downstairs in almost a day. Your dad and I are worried about you."

"Yeah" I say with a little giggle.

"Look Natalie, I'm so sorry about yesterday. You're right I don't know what's going on and I don't know you either."

"It's actually alright. It's my fault, I was being sensitive and I shouldn't have freaked out on you. I'm sorry" I say as Katy sits on the edge of my bed.

"I know your not a big fan of talking but I was hoping we could for just a bit" Katy asks.

"Yeah I guess. Ask me anything"

"Well... Um... What's your favorite food"

"Haha well I love sour patch kids"

"That's not food!" Katy giggles

"Well...um... I like flaming hot Cheetos."

"That's my favorite too!" we both giggle a bit. "Do you have an hobbies?"

"Well, I enjoy singing, playing piano and guitar, oh and I'm also a dancer. What about you?"

"Well my hobby has sort of become my job"

"Oh yeah I guess" I look over at the door and notice my dad is standing there watching Katy and I.

"I see you guys finally decided to actually talk" my dad interrupts.

"Yeah" Katy and I both say and burst into laughter.

"Well I was wondering if you girls wanted to join me for dinner downstairs." My dad asked. I forgot it was Friday. Every Sunday, Wednesday, Friday and occasionally Saturday we have a chef come to the house and cook dinner. My dad doesn't have lots of time to cook every night and a Katy isn't allowed to cook without my dad's supervision... lets just say she should stick to singing.

"Oh is it already time for dinner" Kate asked walking towards my dad pecking him on the lips.

"I'll be down in a second" I add. And with that Katy and my dad shut my door and head downstairs.

"Nat, Katy and I are going back to work soon." My dad says in the middle of dinner. "Katy and I are both going on tour soon."

"I'm going with one of you, right?" I asked my dad.

"Of course you are. It just matters who you want to go with."

"You can always join me on tour. It's so much fun and my friends will love you." Katy assures me.

"I would love to." I replied. I looked over at my dad who was smiling. I could tell he was happy that Katy and I were finally getting along.
