I'm awoken by the slamming of doors.

My eyes flutter open as I stare at the ceiling, not daring to move a single muscle. I feel a chilly wind brush against my cheeks and realize that the veranda doors were open, letting in an icy night breeze. Everything was silent; not a soul stirred... it was as if time itself had stopped.

Slowly, I sit up, pulling my covers to my shoulders, glancing intently at my surroundings. Where was I? I was not familiar with this bedroom.

A yelp escaped my lips as the door slammed again from the raging winds, the ghostly pale curtains dancing wildly in the moonlight. From my view on the bed, the full moon was stunningly beautiful. It held a silent but powerful gaze from its throne in the dark sky.

Slipping out of the warm covers, I make my way to the french doors which were flapping loosely in the wind. Grabbing hold of the handles, I push the doors close, feeling the air around me settle.

With a small breath of relief, I return to my bed. However, I was startled by a pair of piercing gold eyes glaring at me from the closet.

"What the fu--"

I take a step back, bumping into a table and knocking over an expensive-looking vase. I knew what I had in my savings account wouldn't be able to pay for something like this... judging from the look of it, it probably costs around a million dollars. Might as well run away before I'm caught...

"Halt!" the golden eyes growled as it watched me turn towards the exit. "You will not go anywhere. You have seen me, so I have no choice but to silence you."

I swallow hard, laughing nervously. "Actually, I just wanted to use the bath--"

"My Lady? Are you alright?" I hear a pounding at the door. The creature stiffened in alert and immediately appeared by my side, pressing its sharp claws against my neck.

"Make one noise and you will kiss the floor."

"Let's talk like civilized beings--"

"Silence!"

I pressed my lips together, arms up in defense. The knocking continued, and the servant appeared more anxious than ever.

"My Lady, are you alright? Please say something if you're there."

I studied my assailant. He appeared to be a wolf with slick, grey fur and a great, white mane. Despite his menacing front, his figure was trembling slightly. I could tell he was really nervous... he obviously didn't want to be discovered.

"It's okay. Go hide in the closet." I whisper, smiling. He hesitated for a moment before giving me one last hard stare.

"If you try anything fishy--"

I silence him by shoving my thumbs up in his face. Confused and slightly distraught, he reels back and hides himself in the dresser.

I opened the doors, pretending to be sleepy. Wiping the nonexistent sleep dust from my eyes, I fake a yawn and look the butler right in the eye.

"Yes?" I state sleepily.

"I apologize sincerely for disrupting your sleep, My Lady." he replied, bowing. "You are an important guest of Prince Jeong, so it is our responsibility to ensure your safety."

"As you can see, I'm fine." I grin. "I was getting a glass of water and I accidentally stumbled over the leg of the table. Oops, silly me."

"Pardon me as I take a look into your quarters for safety measures."

I step to the side and let him scan the dimly-lit room. Holding my breath and praying he wouldn't ask to search any further, I kept my eyes on the closet that was devoid of any life. Damn, he must be a great hide-and-go-seeker.

Satisfied, the butler bowed and excused himself. From what the servant said, it seems that I'm a guest at this Prince Jeong' palace. I have no idea why I am here, but for now, I need to gather my thoughts. However, there isn't much to gather since I can barely remember anything past the moment I was pushed by a macho man... everything before and after that is just hazy.

I gently close the door behind me with a sigh.

The closet door creaked open and the wolf's head peeked out from the crack.

"You can come out. He's gone." I reassure the beast with a nod.

The wolf nodded in response and crawled out, a hostile gleam in his eyes. I shrugged with a curious smile and he just turned his attention away from me.

"For starters, how about you tell me who you are? Why are you a talking wolf?"

"I refuse to answer questions that invade my privacy."

I whistled. "Hey buddy, listen. I just spared your furry butt. Now tell me who you are before I scream bloody murder and the guards come charging down the hall."

He obviously ignored my threat and began to scavenge the belongings around the room, grabbing anything that looked worth of money.

"Hello?? Are you deaf? Why are you taking these things anyway? I don't think you need that many bars of soap--"

"You talk too much for a woman. Just go back to sleep before I make you." he hissed, his menacing claws pointing at me. I staggered backwards, glaring daggers at the ungrateful canine. It was a moment before I heard another deep voice shout from outside.

"Hyung! Are you done yet?"

I whip my head around and the veranda doors blast open (again??) and a black wolf leaps in, a huge knapsack slung across his back. I gasp in horror as it grinned mischievously when we made eye contact.

"There really isn't anything of worth except for a few decor." the latter wolf explained to his companion, holding up a bag of miscellaneous items. "We should have chosen another room."

"It doesn't matter. We hit the jackpot already!"

With a scowl, he replied "Where?"

The black wolf grinned ear to ear, his hungry eyes looking me up and down. With a gulp, I raised a finger to myself.

"Me?"
