Cat's POV
I walked through the door after a long day of shopping to the smell of something delicious.
"I'm home!" I yelled, setting my shopping bags down by the door.
"I'm in the kitchen!" I heard my mom yell. What was she doing in the kitchen? My dad usually cooks dinner for us.
"Hey. Whatcha makin?" I asked.
"Chicken." she replied. I looked at her and raised ny eyebrows. she sighed in defeat. "Fine, you caught me! I bought rotisserie chicken and threw it in the oven."
"Ha! I knew it!" I said in triumph.
"Just go set the table." Mom said, rolling her eyes.
After I finished placing out all of the plates, forks, cups, and napkins, my brothers burst through the door.
"WE'RE HOOOME!" Brandon yelled. Brandon was thirteen years old and had quite the temper. He was very loud and obnoxious. He had short brown hair and was quite a short boy.
"Mom!" I whisper-yelled. "Tell them you cooked it."
Mom mouthed an 'okay' back to me, and the boys burst into the kitchen.
"What's for dinner?" Peter asked. Peter was eighteen, a year younger than me. He had longish blonde hair and was really annoying. We we're pretty much rivals. Melanie hated him, and I wasn't far behind. Soph liked almost everybody, but Peter was an exception.
We had moved on from the stage of completely hating each other, but we still fought. In a friendlier way though.
"Sup, Colt." He sneered.
"My name, isn't Colt." I growled. "It's Cat."
"Both of you, stop it. Peter, stop calling your sister Colt. Cathrine, please don't pick an argument with him." Mom said. "We're having chicken for dinner. It's almost done. You boys go do your homework."
"What homework? I graduated on Friday." Brandon said.
"Fine. Peter, what about you? Do you have homework?" she asked.
"Mom, I graduated, too."
Suddenly, Mom started crying. I ran over to comfort her.
"Shhh." I said soothingly.
"My babies. You're all grown up. Brandon's going to be starting high school. You and Peter will be starting college. It feels like you were just born yesterday." she said. We stayed on the floor for a while, before I remembered the chicken.
"Mom, we kinda need to eat." I whispered.
"Oh yeah." she said, wiping her tears. "Let's eat."
While we were eating, my dad walked through the kitchen door and sat down at the table.
"Hey, Dad." Peter, Brandon, and I chorused.
We talked for a while and finished our dinner. Before long, Peter and Brandon went up to bed. By that time, it was already close to midnight.
My mom started walking up the steps to bed, but I stopped her.
"Mom, can you come here a minute?" I asked. She came over and looked me straight in the eye.
"Yes?" she asked.
I took a deep breath. "Mel, Soph, and I got One Direction tickets for the concert next week."

Mel's POV
My mom started walking upstairs to go to sleep. It was now or never.
"Mom, we need to talk." I said, patting the seat next to me. She gave me a strange look, but sat down anyway.
She raised an eyebrow. "What now, Melanie?"
I sighed. "Well... Cat, Soph, and I all got tickets to the One Direction concert next week."
---
Soph's POV
My mom announced that she was going to bed, so I sprang into action.
"Wait! I gotta tell you something really important." I said.
"Fine, but you have exactly one minute Sophie Anne." She said. What was it with my mother only calling me by my first and middle names?
"Cat, Mel, and I are going to the 1d concert next week."

So... you can just picture Cat's Mom and Dad however you want. I seriously don't care.
