Zöe's POV:
The only sound I could hear was both the police and ambulance sirens surrounding us. I couldn't
believe it...he was dead. My father was dead!
After the incident, I called 911 and told them everything that had happened and in least then five
minutes they were already here.
All the neighborhood was out inspecting what the whole noises were about.
When I looked up to see our neighbor Mr. Jerry he gave me a pity look just like everyone else who
wasn't deaf to hear all the constant
screaming coming out of my house on daily basis or blind to see my scars and bruises but he gave
me a look that told me that probably
my future was about to get better (note the sarcasm) because I now was destined to be an orphan
or something worse.
"Mrs. Collins?"
"Mrs. Collins" The same urgent voice called while lightly taping my left shoulder.
"Huh?" I turned around to see a middle age officer standing by my side.
"I'm sorry for your loss and I've come here to inform you that we contacted your mother an-"
At the word mother I was already zoned out. 'We contacted your mother' my mother? But I haven't seen her for years.
"Okay?"the officer asked.
"Wait. What?!" I asked him in a tone of shock.
"I said that we were informed to tell you that your mother said that she will be here at first flight
tomorrow morning at 9:00 and that you should pack" he told with serious expression.
"No.no! But I don't even know her" I exclaimed.
"I'm sorry miss but those are the rules until your legally an adult. You could stay the night at a
friend's house or we could find you a shelter for the night." He said.
"I-it's fine I'll find a place" I stuttered and with that I was left alone.
I grab my crappy cellphone and I speed dialed the only person I knew that could help me.
"Hello? Jake can I crash at yours?"
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Yeah so that's what happened" I told Jake.
See after I called Jake he picked me up as fast as he could and said that we would just come early in
the morning and pack my stuff. So
he spare me some sweatpants and a over-sized shirt and right now we were in Jake's room talking
about what happened.
"Wow. So you are just going to move out, just like that?!!" He exclaimed with a scowl.
"Well is not like have another choice Jake, you know I'm not comfortable with the idea of staying
with my so called 'mother' neither but I don't have anywhere to go."
"You could always stay with me." He said.
"No you know I can't do that" I answered.
"Yeah, yeah. Anyways were are you moving? Jake asked.
"Well-"
huh? Now that I think about it I don't even know were I'm going to be living for the rest of my life.
Well at least until I'm a legal adult...
"Well?" Jake interrupted me from my thought.
"I-I don't actually know, but I guess it won't be far away I will still see you everyday in school"
I answered unsure.
Jake then got up from the bean bag he was just on. "Ok, anyways are you up for movies?"
"Sure" I answered glad that he decided to stop the topic right there.
"I'll bring popcorn"
