A/N: SO SORRY FOR NOT UPDATING I'VE HAD A BUNCH OF TESTS AND I COULDN'T TAKE THE TIME NEEDED TO WRITE.

Chapter 3

I have spent the past two and a half weeks packing and waiting for this moment. Josh and I sit in first class with a bunch of people that are older than us. I hate first class cause it makes me feel childish with people holding laptops and they are all wearing glasses and smell of rich perfumes that stink. I glance over to Josh, who's playing angry birds on his iPad. "So, what hotel are we staying at?", I ask him breaking the silence.

Eyes still trained on his device he tells me, " I rented a house instead. It's gonna be me, you, and Jennifer. Liam chose to have a hotel." He rolls his eyes.

Hearing that Jennifer is going to be staying with us makes it easier on me. I have always wanted to meet her and I finally will.

_____________

"Josh!", Jennifer calls and she embraces him. "Oh my god. I went to leave today and Nick said he wanted to and I quote 'fuck you until you can't walk anymore' and I was just", she cuts off mid sentence and shudders while Josh laughs. "So you must be Selena." She hugs me and I'm overcome with fear. I have been a fan of hers since I saw Winter's Bone.

We unpack our things and explore the house a bit. Josh and I have the two upstairs rooms while Jennifer picked the basement claiming that 'oldest needs the biggest' so we left it at that. "I want food or something...pizza!" Jennifer screams at us and I am surprised by her. It must register on my face and Josh laughs and shakes his head at me.

Later that night as I lay in bed, I wonder if it's possible that I can actually be this lonely. I am stuck here alone. Well, not completely alone, Jennifer is five feet below me in the basement and Josh is in the next room over. I decide after much debate to go speak to him. Getting out of bed, I slip flip flops onto my feet and walk into the hall. Knowing what is lying behind the door, I place my hand onto the cold doorknob. I console myself and gain the courage to step in. His silhouette is aligned by the moonlight shining through the open window. Saltwater interrupts the flowery scent of the air fresheners in the house. His eyes open when I take a step closer to him and the floor creeks.

"You okay?", he asks, wiping his eyes.

"Couldn't sleep.", I say and there's a pause. Josh seems to be contemplating something in his mind but I act like I don't notice. A moment later he pats the spot next to him in the bed and sits up. I make the indentation deeper when I plop next to him. We are silent for a while. The crisp night air reaches onto my bare arms. "I...I meant to call you before this...I wanted to call you." Why am I even saying this?

"Stop.", he says, "Just go to bed we can talk in the morning."

"Uh-okay?", I stammer as he lifts the blanket and encases me in the warmth. His heavy footsteps fill my mind as he pulls the already-blown-up air mattress and lays on it. I can now see why he chose this bedroom. The sound of crashing waves reaches my mind and I am carried off into oblivion.
