The Infected

The disease was basically being made in a Swedish lab and tested on 10 subjects. It was suppost to be a immune strengthing injection for patients who had a lack of white blood cells. A chemical inbalance went wrong and after a month of quarentine, a few subjects had fully been disfigured. 3 of which had only been changed in their eyes and skin color. Their eyes had turned fully white and their skin turned full black. The 7 others had been deformed in many ways, skeletions altered, hands enlarged, their faces mutilated with unattural amounts of eyes on their faces. One of the 7 was still humanoid, except for horns sticking out of their head and their legs decreasing in muscle mass. Unlike the 6 others who were deforemed, this one was capable of speech and free will. The others were reduced to natural instincts of hunting, sleeping, and eating. Each of the infected got their own masks. Basically the most un-disfigured three got a choice of their masks to Identify themselves as in the quarentine they stayed seperate from in the lab, each chose a regular being (Theo) A rabbit (????) And a fox (????) Basically the lab didnt want them to suffer looking at what they had become. While all the others excluding gladio were extreamly fucked up in their facial features that the Lab group couldnt stand looking at, and made them masks to reduce the stress that each of them would cause when looking towards the lab group. Gladio basicaly got to choose his own becuase he was still capable of speech and the lab group wanted to study him further, He chose a clown based mask and the lab group gave him one either way becuase they didnt want to upset or disturb him and be able to study his mental stability more without him whining over it. The quarentine that the deforemed infects were in were much larger than the non-deforemed. It resembled a large, forest enviroment with a few buildings scattered through it, and a more concentrated area of buildings near the middle. Now this is like, REALLY BIG. Like. The size of a few football fields. Each deformed acted differently with eachother; "The Twins" or Os and Eris followed "The Moonwatcher" most of the time. The Moonwatcher was nicknamed that becuase of it's fascination with watching the synthetic moon in the area. The hunchbacked one would display actions of stalking the others, hiding in the trees, and sometimes pouncing and running away on other defects. Then the unmasked one eyed one would basically attempt to jump around the quarentine and explore alot more than the others. Now Gladio, gladio spent most of his time in the middle of the Quarentine. Creating shanks, sharpening items. He attempted to fortify the main building inside which was a 3 story tall building made of concrete like most of the others. And in a nutshell the 3 others were more free than the others. They were allowed to exit their quarentine and watch the others only if they wear a special suit to keep contraction of the disease to a minimal. They basically just tried to live a normal life inside of the lab while being tested on every other week. The lab was fueled on about 583 million dollars, The staff was never able to regain any profit from the discoveries and studies they did. After 92 years the lab had to be shut down in the middle of the study. No more loans, no more money. The last of the lab group studying on the infected had come to the conclusion they had to release them. They got the non deformed out on a helicopter in their suits but the fuesalage in the heli had broke in the middle of the flight. The only survivors were the 3 that were infected in the middle of a Michigan wilderness. The deformed were forced into capsules and transported the same way that the 3 others were going. Just like them, the fuesalage broke aswell. Turns out all of the company issued helicopters were falling apart and only 3 of them made it to the main destination in california, that only included the CEO and 10 of the original chairmen of the lab. Just like the other 3, they were stuck in southwest Michigan.
