The night at the ball was beautiful; dancing away like a Cinderella story. It replayed in my dreams a few times, having my first kiss was surprising, yet so magical. I still don't know why I said I feel the same way about him. It was only a matter of time. Breaking up with Jason taught me not to for every good reason how I used to be so stupid blinded.

I dragged myself to the bathroom after stretching I felt so tired , brushing my teeth I got ready for the royal breakfast as Katherine loves to call it . My stomach rumbled as I started walking down the stairs. James walked passed and started laughing a little and winked at me grabbing my hand and dragging me towards the hall making me react in different ways but laughing at the end he soon let go when we reached. The maids and butlers were setting the table and placing the food. I gave them a warm smile and said my good mornings.

"Princess." they all chanted while bowing. I took my place at the table while waiting for my parents. Finally as everyone settled down at the table we began eating.

"I would like you to start your practice as a princess and heir to the throne since are soon to be queen, Melissa, your coronation is in a month's time so we must get you prepared." my dad announced with a smile on his face. He knew very well that I didn't want it since I have been here for only two weeks but I didn't dare to argue back. I knew better than to argue with my dad. So I nodded and gave him a warm smile and went back to my breakfast .

After finishing my breakfast I headed to my room, a few minutes later there was a loud knock at the door which nearly made me drop my phone. There was a lady at the door dressed all formal and high class.

"My respect princess." She said while bowing I raised an eyebrow and replied "How can I help you?" I questioned.

"I have been asked by the King to prepare you and teach you how to be queen -"

I cut her off, " I know. I know. So where do we start?"

"Tomorrow, early in the morning so you better be prepared your highness." she said walking out the door after bowing.

I sighed and sat on the edge of my bed. Within minutes the door opened and Adam walked in. "Ever heard of knock -" he cut me off with a kiss. It was light kiss our lips touching but it was sweet slow. I still had a stern look on my face but softened as he pulled me close into a hug, he knew how to take my pain away temporarily. He dragged me to the balcony. Taking a deep breath inhaling the fresh air. I could see Katherine and Isaiah play fighting it made me smile. I watched her grab his crown and have him run after her to get it. They were running around like kids as she hits his arms like a child.

For five seconds, I sensed something in the trees behind them, Adam pulled me back into my room and let me sit beside him, on my bed. He pulled me close to him as I rested my head on his chest. And within 15 minutes of closing my eyes as Adam, there was a loud knock at the door. I walked over to the door, surprised that the door was flung open with Damon, Katherine's guardian. He rushed in with a scared look on his face. I could hear screams coming from outside. I ran downstairs, only to be stopped by Damon.

"We have to go now, Caleb is at the car park. Kat's already missing, it would be worse if you were too."he said trying to catch his breathe . I had so many emotions and thoughts to let out but I knew very well not to ask but save my life. I ran out the door leaving everything behind not looking back but everywhere I looked there was fire and people were screaming, my heart was beating even faster than before. I ran to the car park which wasn't far, thankfully. Caleb was there looking at his watch like time was running out. He rushed me into the car and drove off like it was the end of time.
