It had been about five days since Daryl and Rick had seen or talked to each other. Which was fine, life went on for the two. Rick visited his sick wife Lori in the hospital every day and Daryl spent days sleeping in his recliner chair, without a care in the world. The two men shared two extremely different life styles. Rick had a family, a job, a decent home, and what some would say a life. While Daryl on the other hand hand had none of those things he enjoyed sleeping, being lazy, he pretty much had no family besides his older brother Merle who occasionally came over to visit with Daryl or to hide from the police or get doped up on Daryl's sofa.

Rick had been thinking about Daryl and how he could attempt to help the man to succeed. He always enjoyed his company when arresting him but he figured it was time for it all to
end.  Considering his wife's illness was getting worse and there was no way of stopping it, he thought he would  occupy himself in order to clear his mind and not think of it so much. Rick loved Lori but before she became ill their marriage had began to deplet, Rick was becoming more comfortable with the idea of being a bisexual male but Lori feared of him leaving her which  caused them to constantly argue  over the idea of Rick exploring his sexuality. Rick was pretty upset over it but he loved Lori and he would do anything to keep their love strong, so he abandoned the idea and continued his regular life, but with the realization that Lori wouldn't  be with him for much longer he began to open  up once again.

Rick walked out of the hospital his head hung low tears forming in his eyes, The illness Lori had was still un-named and and no one had a clue as to how long she would last and how to cure her. Rick walked slowly towards his car his mind wandering with every step, a quick memory of his most resent encounter with Daryl flashed in his mind bringing a small smile to his face he nodded slightly realizing he would have something to look forward to because knowing Daryl he would be in trouble sooner or later. Rick got into his hot car turning it on pulling out of the hospital parking garage, he drove through the long and twisty roads falling deeper into his thoughts he thought it would be fun to mess with Daryl and send him a fruit basket just for fun, because why not! Rick continued to drive stopping at a local super market picking up a rather nice assorted fruit basket. Rick paid for the basket and he was on his way starting his long journey to Daryl's home.

After the 30 minute ride Rick finally arrived to the edge of the forest, and at this point he was debating on weather this was a good idea,'Should I just go back and enjoy the fruit to Myself?'. "No.' He whispered to himself, he had come way to far to just turn back and whats the worst thing that could happen? Rick took a few deep breaths before getting out of his car, he walked up to the ran down little shack and rang the doorbell with a big smile plastered across his face. Daryl opened the door slowly "Huh? What are you doing here?" Daryl opened the door fully. "Just thought you needed a bit more fruit in your diet!" Rick smiled holing out the fruit basket a confused expression growing on Daryl's face "Uh..Thanks I guess?" Daryl took the fruit basket starting to close the door,  "Oh um I was Wondering if I could come in and chat" Daryl opened the door moving aside "Uh sure I guess" Daryl replied in his gruff voice. Rick smiled entering the house.
