I walked to Lulu and Mark's house. I was a bit nervous and not having Harry with me only made it worse. I hesitantly knocked on the door of the two-story house. I was surprised that they had gotten a place as beautiful as this one. Moments later the door was unlocked and opened to reveal Mark. I swear for a split second I thought it would be my dad opening it up, beer in one hand, cigarette in another and then he would get angry about me being "passed my curfew" even if it was only five o'clock, then he would beat me and sometimes it would get to the point where Mark would tackle him to make him stop. Mom would never see when he would hit us...he actually made it a point so he did it in private and when mom would see the bruises we would just say we were messing around and we hit each other. And when she finally saw, she left. Didn't say one word just picked up her keys and left. I was only 13. That's when he got worse. My thoughts were interrupted by Mark's raspy voice, "You gonna come in?" He asked in a joking way. I playfully nudged him and walked into the house. He chuckled and closed the door. "The plans for tonight are, we aren't gonna go out. We're just gonna enjoy the house. Plus Lu isn't in a good mood." He said. "Shut up!!" She called from the kitchen. We both laughed and sat on the couch in the living room. Lulu then followed. "I thought you were dating Isacc." Mark said. I cringed at his name. "We broke up. Um, he cheated on me and Harry picked me up when I fell so I'm with him now." I said. "I always knew you and Harry would end up together, you guys make am adorable couple." Lulu joked. Mark rolled his eyes. "Ew girl talk. Well I'm gonna go order the pizza and find movies. Girls no fangirling please." He said walking to his room. "So. Do you have a boyfriend?" I asked. "No. I don't actually. I'm single." She answered. "What about Mark?" I asked. "He tried to go out, but he got serious one time I mean he was in love, Abs. But then the girl dumped him on their anniversary. He can't, he's tried but he's afraid to be heartbroken again." She explained. I sighed. Mark walked back in and had his arms filled with movies. He set them on the ground as we examined them. "Ok. Ohh lets watch Titanic." Lulu said. "No, no! We are not watching a chick flick." Mark protested. "Fine!" Lulu said. "Hmm what about The Hunger Games?" I suggested. "Yeah." They agreed. I put in the movie.
About halfway through it the doorbell rang. I groaned and stood up since I knew they weren't gonna even bother moving. I opened the door to reveal a tall lean guy. He had plain brown eyes and his hair was long. He looked like a skater guy. "That will be 8.67." He said bluntly. I handed him the cash and grabbed the box. "Cheer up. Pizza delivering is an art." I joked. I shut the door before he could say anything. "Pizza!" I called out. I walked to the living room and their eyes were still glued to the screen. I set the box on the floor and grabbed a slice. After the movie the pizza was half gone. They put in The Avengers. Lulu's phone rang as she gasped. Me and Mark turned our heads to look at her. "Guys its a private number." She whispered. She scarily hit answer. "Hello?" Me and Mark looked at each other worridly. A scared look appeared on her face as she hung up the phone. She started crying. "Lu-Lu who was it?" I asked, growing scared as well. She swollowed. "Dad."
