Chapter Two
As I settled myself in for another long, exhausting day of education, I had a small feeling of satisfaction. Tonight, there would be a party, and a very big one at that.
Feeling a pair of eyes on me, I swivelled round in my chair to look behind me. There, was Colby Daniels. His naturally streaked blonde hair that was slightly covering his cheeky, mischievous blue eyes always took my breath away. He was one was handsome, charming boy.
And the fact that he couldn’t stop looking at me boosted my confidence up. Sending a small wink in my direction, I gave him a small smirk in return before twisting back around to face the front of the room. I had the feeling of satisfaction, he was mine tonight.
The teacher at the front of the classroom cleared her throat before starting the class.
“Good morning boys and girls,” she smiled sweetly, letting her happiness brighten the bored state of her students. “Today we’re going to start off with a pop quiz . . . Just to see where you are all at so far.”
I let out a small, frustrated groan. I could not stand quizzes, let alone any piece of assessment for that matter. An A4 sheet of paper landed on top of my desk, looking up I gave the teacher a small smile, “Thanks.”
Just as I had picked up my pencil and was about to begin writing, a scrunched up piece of paper hit the back of my head. I spun my head around, my hand going to my head. I searched around for the person that had thrown it; Colby had a little grin on his face. I mouthed ‘what the hell?’ to him.
He pointed at the scrunched up ball of paper and mouthed, ‘read it’. Letting out an exasperated sigh, I bent down to pick it up off the ground. Keeping it hidden in my lap from the teacher, I slowly unfolded it.
Come to the party with me tonight (;
I looked up at him once more and gave him a small smirk, mouthing to him ‘maybe’. He gave me a look of surprise, but I turned back to my quiz paper before he could say anything back.

The loud bass noise of the latest Cher Loyd single Want You Back echoed throughout the house from my room. The sweet scent of incense lingered in my room before flowing out into the hallway. I breathed it in deeply, relaxing my body and soothing my mind. I felt at peace whenever I burned it, no one could ever understand why . . . Perhaps because they don’t like it.
My bed had massed amounts of clothing piled on top as I searched through my cupboards. I had managed to put three piles of clothing, one for tops, bottoms and dresses.
I groaned to myself, twisting my fingers through my hair frustrated, “I have absolutely nothing to wear!”
The frustration grew when I cast a quick glance at my pile of shoes . . . Why was this so difficult?! I let my face fall into my hands as I massaged my temples trying to think clearly.
A bright green dress caught my eye from my bed. Pouncing on it like a tiger capturing its prey, I dug through the pile till I reached it. Pulling it out I put it against me, studying myself in the mirror beside my bed.
My eyes squinted at every little detail, how it made my hips, shoulders, arms and legs look. By the end I felt fully satisfied; I had found the right dress for tonight. Quickly tugging it over my head, I smoothed it over my body as I put into the right position.
