January 4th, 2014.
I woke up against the wall next to my bed, groggy and disoriented as always.
Fuck, it's too early I thought to myself, and snuggled deeper under my warm Blue-green comforter.
I rested my head on my arm as I looked around the room, mainly Jared's side.
He wasn't in bed.
Jared wasn't the type of person who was up early. We have a two hour delay. Why is he up?
I got up and slowly wrapped my blanket around myself, making my way cautiously down the hallway.
I walk into the kitchen and am greeted with a strange sight. Jared stood in the middle of the kitchen, cooking breakfast at the stove.
"Oh, hey DJ." He greeted me as he planted a kiss on my forehead before returning to flipping the pancakes in the skillet.
Okay, now I'm confused.
Jared never kisses me.
"Well, someone's in a good mood." I responded.
He chuckled to himself.
"Just a small 'Thank you' for yesterday."
I form my mouth into a small o shape.
"So what's for breakfast?" I asked.
"Banana pancakes, eggs and sausage. Bacon is in the microwave."
"You know me so well."
"Well we don't share a room for nothing."
I felt my tired face twitch into a smile.

"Here," Jared said as he passed me the orange juice.
"Thanks." I said as I poured myself a glass.
"Alright, your bus will be here in an hour, so you gotta get dressed." Jared informed me while looking at his phone.
"Got it," I mumbled as I devoured the rest of my bacon.

How does it feel being in these arms?
What's it really like to be loved?
I've been alone now, how long?
Have you ever loved the way that i have?
And I have often wondered who,
Who could love you the way i do?
I sang to myself quietly as I made my way down the three flights of stairs that I walk down every morning in my apartment building.
Jared and I kept a steady pace as we walked down the sidewalk to my bus stop.
We made our way down to the end of the sidewalk, where Jared's friend Colin was waiting in his car.
"Alright, you be good at school, I'll pick you up at 4." Jared said, pointing back to me before he hopped into Colin's car.
I nodded in response and waved at Colin, who sent a heartwarming smile my way before speeding away in his Audi.
My bus pulled up and I ran to get on.
"Hey Mandy, hey Rach" I yelled over the bus's radio to my best friends.
"Hey DJ!" Rachel called back.
"Sup?" Mandy nodded at me as I sat down.
"These are wassup!" I replied as I flopped my bookbag off of my shoulders and brushed my curls behind my ear to reveal beautiful diamond earrings that I had gotten for Christmas.
