Chapter 1
“Uncle Vincent, can I go walk around the place? Get used to my surroundings?” I asked my uncle, as I made way for the door.
“Not so fast there young lady, you be careful okay and be back by 6” Uncle Vincent said, as I opened the door and waved bye to him. I walked out of the front gates of my new home, heading straight to downtown. Just recently about 4 days ago, I just moved in with my uncle. My parents aren’t around home much, well at all to be honest now since they travel around the country. Before, living in good old Australia, my parents were just traveling to Sydney and Perth, but now their company is moving and decided to head for the European countries, a place that is tremendously far away from Australia. So the final decision was to move here with my uncle half way through the year. He has looked after me ever since the day I left the hospital. I would like to say that I’m close with my parents but I would be lying. The only times I get to see my parents are usually once every two months, twice if I’m lucky. They are just constantly traveling and working and traveling and working! Uncle Vincent has been the one that is always there for me. I left all my friends, and family. I was hard to do so. Now I’m starting school just down the road from here in Ireland, year 11, great! They all held a surprise party for me; it was honestly the best thing to ever happen, until I broke up with my boyfriend, Beck. It was only because of long distance, we both agreed to is and we are still best friends. The thought of that made me angry. I quicken my past and shook the thoughts of me and my friends, my family.
“Thank you” I replied, as the old lady in the café poured hot chocolate into my cup. It was starting to get colder, lucky I wore my jumper and leggings not shorts since before the weather was just right. I looked over to the clock and saw 5:45pm. Better get going. I quickly drank the hot chocolate, that was good. It kept me warm for now. As I exited the café, the weather felt warm again, arrrrh perfect I mumbled to myself. I started walking along the paths towards the direction to my house. Trying to remember which way I went, I just went with whatever path. Eventually, I gained memory and remembered which way to go. I slipped my hands into my jumper pockets, since they felt cold and stiff. As I got closer to my house, I heard laughter and music starting to play. I looked diagonally and saw a group of teenagers my age, having fun , messing about to music with each other. There were three girls, all gorgeously pretty. Two of the girls were wearing a ‘Jack Willis’ jumper, one was purple the other was red, along with leggings. The both of them had blonde hair. The other girl was wearing a red varsity jacket and ripped shorts. She had brown hair. As I started getting closer I saw two guys mucking about. One of the boys was playing with a soccer ball, kicking about. The other boy with blondy- brownish hair was dancing about, being a complete idiot. Not wanting to make eye-contact with them, I just stared anywhere but there, mostly straight or at the ground. As I walked along the path, getting closer to my gate, something hit my leg. I stopped it with my leg when I saw it was a soccer ball and picked it up.
“Hey there, could you get that please?” The guy yelled out from the other side of the road.
I then threw it to him, seeing all of them look at me. I’m not good with people looking at me. I hate it really, especially if they are random people I don’t even know. All I did was smile.
“Thanks’ the guy replied back.
“Anytime” I yelled back as I entered the front gates of my home.
