It was Chris' birthday. He was finally turning 14. This was going to be the best day ever for the teenaged Chris because he was going to get to go ice skating. Ever since he was a little boy and he first saw a ice rink on TV he knew that he would have to skate. Just the thought of the smooth but cold and hard ice made him excited to glide across it. Maybe a little too excited.
Chris thought to himself, "I wonder if it is normal to be so excited to skate. I am sure it is. I mean the smooth and shining look to the ice makes it irresistible." He nodded to himself and thought he was a very normal teenager.
When he finally got to the rink, he breathed out a sigh of relief. He wouldn't have to wait any longer until he got to see a ice rink in person. He was going to get to see what he wanted to see for so many long years. He rushed out of the car and skipped toward the Ice Rink's building. He opened the door and hurried to the counter to rent some skates. Thankfully it was still quite early so, there was no line. As soon as he grabbed his skates, he ran though the door into the ice rink. What he saw took his breath away.
