Chapter 11
The entire class sat and did absolutely nothing. Most people would say " Oh, if my teacher was murdered, I would celebrate", or, " I don't care if they live or not.". But the reality of murder was very shocking for those innocent children who didn't grow up like I did. After a couple seconds of shocked silence, the whimpering started. That pitiful noise I know I will never forget. The sheer hopelessness of those small sounds signified the end of her life.
It wasn't long before the man drew attention back to himself, by shooting a hole in the ceiling above him. There were a few screams, and the whimpers got slightly louder, more desperate, until he spoke again. "SILENCE! ALL OF YOU!" His yell echoed through the room, and I knew that they would all, including me, be scarred for life.
He carelessly kicked the teacher's body aside before again shouting, "COME ON IN GUYS!", and then quieter to us, "The search is on."
Chapter 12
At his request, about seven heavily armed men came thundering into the room, before tactically placing themselves, blocking all chances of escape. "Right, let's get this party started" Smirked the man at the front of the room to the others surrounding us. They smirked with him. 'Twits' I couldn't help but think. "Which one of you is Thalia? We know you are in here, and we think you would much rather reveal yourself to us painlessly than for us having to kill each one of your classmates to see which one heals a bullet wound through the brain quickest." He seemed too cocky, but I already had a plan. I would reveal myself, let them take me outside, then kill them all. It would be simple and easy. But it wasn't.
If found myself slowly standing up, without really thinking it through in my head properly. "Ah, so here is the infamous Demon girl", he was talking, but his voice was muffled by my intense concentration. Let them take you, go outside, end their lives quickly. I didn't know what I was going to do afterwards, just my immediate reactions to the problem at hand. Stupid me.
"Grab her" At his command, four of the seven men leap forward, and I let them force me to the ground and tie my hands behind my back. But suddenly, I knew my plan had to change. One of the men in front of me was pulling out a needle with a toxic green substance within. I made my eyes change. Then it was my turn to smirk.
I stood up easily, launching the three bulky men holding me down into the surrounding area, sending two of them through the window. Two down, five to go. I began to prepare myself to take down the one in front of me when I heard the first man's voice taunting me. To my horror, whilst I was concentrating on the others, he had darted around the room to be stood opposite me. With his gun glued to Lucas' head.
Chapter 13
Nothing. I was hopeless. I could do absolutely nothing. My eyes returned to normal, and I looked at Lucas' face. Pure horror, that was what I saw in his eyes. They met mine and he tried a weak smile that looked more like a grimace. "It's okay" he mouthed, and he closed his eyes. I couldn't believe it. He expected me to sacrifice his life, for what? My freedom? It would be taken anyway; that I couldn't deny that it would happen eventually. So I found myself doing what I'd never done before. I sunk to my knees and hung my head. I was beaten.
As quickly as they had filled the room, they pulled me up from my knees and found some other handcuffs, as I had smashed the others to smithereens. I felt weak, but somewhat pleased that I had saved a life. Or so I thought.
"Well well well. I never thought it would be that easy to bring down the most powerful teenager in the world." Said the man who came in first, seemingly the leader. Raising his hand up high, he brought it down on my cheek, where a cut promptly appeared, then disappeared due to my healing abilities. " Ah yes, we still haven't sorted that discrepancy, have we?" At a clap of his hands, the toxic injection made it's appearance again. I felt my hair being tugged back, and the sharp needle slowly forced itself into my neck, and dispersed it's poison into my bloodstream.
I felt a sudden shock of pain, flashing me back to the first time I was shot. Desperate. Cold. Vunderable. Everything I felt then I felt now, but all of those feelings were floating about in a deep pool of shame. There I was, moaning in pain, in front of the people I was supposed to stay strong for.
I focussed on the one positive feeling I had, I saved Lucas. He wouldn't die here. He would live a long life, maybe with some mental health problems, but a long life none the less. "Well boys, shall we take our leave? We have what we came for", Motioning to me with his pistol. But there was something in his face, a kind of look that felt me feel like a fool, like he knew something I didn't. Which I very much doubted, considering his conversation skills. With a quick, curt nod of his head, all positive feelings disappeared. One of the goons pointed their gun at Lucas, and with a grunt, roughly translated into "Stand up", the ringleader said the last words I ever heard him say.
"Easier to sell two than one alone."
Chapter 14
Everything went blurry as we were pushed out of the room and shoved down the stairs leading to the lobby. When in the lobby, the men seemed euphoric, leaping around and jumping until the ringleader pointed his gun at one of them. They stopped after that.
We had gotten to the car park and now they started running. I saw flashing lights in the distance and felt better about my situation. Maybe the police would get here in time? I was hoping beyond what I knew to be possible, but my mind brought me out of my desperate situation, so I let it go for the first time in forever. I found myself thinking in ways I never had before. Everything seemed to be so.. clear, easy to understand. I felt at peace for the first time in ages, yet there I was, being rapidly pushed closer and closer to a looming, dirty white van, the engine running and doors open.
Then I just... stopped walking. I don't know what happened. My legs just kind of.. didn't feel like walking anymore. I can't explain it. I started going upwards. Like I was floating. Then, there was a massive flash of light, and I think I remember yelling at Lucas to close his eyes or something along those lines. In a matter of milliseconds, all of the "bad guys" were unconscious, lying on the floor. The van sped away, and I found myself stood rather than hovering again.
"Well, that was interesting." Lucas had nothing else to say than that. I have to respect his bravery at that moment in time.
So, with red and blue lights flashing behind us, we began walking back to the classroom as if nothing happened.
I'm sorry this part is short, but PRESSURE MUCH. Also, I realise I quoted two Frozen songs in one sentence, why not?
