And the day just gets better

I stood there staring at the school building. The chilling wind blew wildly around causing me to shiver and hug my blazer tightly around me. The sky was full of clouds that cast gloomy shadows over the building in front of me.

My first thought was to turn back on my heels and head straight back home, for I was in no mood for receiving a lecture about being late for school. I was defiantly not in the mood to learn or do anything as a matter of fact. All I wanted to do in fact, was to just ditch school altogether and head for the little cafe down the street.

Taking a quick glance at my wristwatch, I saw that it was already 8:50. Great, I was already 20 min late for school, what was the point of even going.

Sulking, I went through the school gate and up the pathway to the reception. As usual I got the ‘talk’ from Mrs Thomas- a short, middle age woman with serious anger issues.

Her face had gone as red as a tomato, as she stood right up in my face, shouting and going on and on and on. Seriously had this women every heard of a little thing called personal space. Clearly, she hadn’t.

She went on for what seemed like hours (but was probably just 2 min), while I just stood there with an apologetic face, nodding along to whatever she was saying.

“Yes Mrs Thomas, I’ll try not to be late again.” I chanted with a fake ‘I’m so sorry’ expression on my face, as she added me a pink detention slip.

Slipping away from her and into the corridor, I crushed the pink slip into a little ball before throwing it into the rubbish bin just a meter away. It want straight in, before being followed by a silent cry of victory. “Yhaaaa!”

Seeing no point in going to assemble with only 5min until it’s over, I headed for the locker area. It was totally empty and silent. Guess everyone was in assemble, which was a bummer since it meant I had to wait for him to come out. Who, you might ask.

Well, only my boyfriend Jordan. We’ve been going out for about 3 months now and I think we’re head over heels in love with each other. We where the ‘it couple’ and I knew ever girl in our year wanted a piece of him. However, he only had his eyes on one girl. Moi

I must have been day dreaming about Jordan again, considering the fact that the next I knew, I was in a crowed locker area jam packed with loud teenagers.

Shoving and pushing my way through the sea of students, I finally arrived at Jordan’s locker.

“Hay babe, where were you this morning? I really missed you in assemble.” He whispered in my ears, as he pulled me into a warm bear hug. He was wearing my favourite lopsided grin which always made his chestnut brown eyes light up.

“No where special. Just decided not to go to assemble today” I muttered into his chest.

I breathed him in, taking in the smell of aftershave, coffee and deodorant. Looking up I can face to face with him. His eyes bearing into mine and making me feel light heading.  How long we stood like that just starting into each other’s eye, I couldn’t tell. I felt like it was just us two in that crowed locker area, just getting lost in each other’s eye.  Just the perfect moment...before we were rudely interrupted by someone clearing their throat behind me.

Upon turning around, I was faced with an angelic face which only had to belong to Ashley.  Gosh I hated this girl.

She was always parading around, with her head held high as if she was all high and mighty.  Rolling her skirt way to high, with the so many buttons of her shirt undone, she might as well not even have bothered with the shirt.

However, the thing that really gets under my skin is the fact that she flirts shamelessly Jordan, my boyfriend. I don’t know what this girl’s problem is. Why can’t she see that he is not interested. She’s just so desperate, that it makes me sick then she flings herself onto Jordan (especially when I’m standing right next to him, I mean is this girl blind or something).
