-(Y/n)'s PoV-
I sighed as I looked at the calendar. Exactly one year ago, a giant robot appeared and crushed your house while you were at school. Some other houses were blown up in the process. My family was one of the three that were killed. I listened to the calming pitter-patter of the rain, trying to calm myself. A small bell rang, indicating that we needed to head to the lobby. I groaned as I walked out of my room.
"(Y/N)!" One of the younger kids cheered.
"Hey Molly," I smiled, picking her up. Molly was like a little sister to me, yet her age is one of the popular choices for parents nowadays. I shouldn't be as attached to her as I am, but I can't help but love her. She's super cute and probably too nice.
"(Y/n)... Mrs. Jane doesn't sound very happy," Molly said pointing down the hall.
"Don't worry, it's probably just her time of the month," I reassured, then realized that Molly was only 8, she wouldn't understand that phrase at all. Before she could question me, we arrive to a crying owner of the orphanage we lived in.
"K-kids, and teen," Mrs. Jane glanced at me quickly,"As you know, This place has been through alot, a-and," She sobbed. Mrs. Jane had built this orphanage with her husband Wilbur a while back because she was infertile. Yet the place was starting to fall apart both structurally and financially.
"T-Tomorrow will be e-everyone's last day here, so get packed b-because each and everyone one of you w-will get," She finally cracked and started to break down crying. Everyone looked towards me, the 2nd oldest person here.
"Everyone get ready and set out your best outfits, tomorrow is adoption day," I smiled, setting Molly down to go run off with all the other kids. Mrs. Jane mouthed out a small thanks and I left to pack.I knew that I wasn't going to get adopted. Nobody ever wants anyone above 10. I was 13, practically 14. Still, I decided to pack just Incase I get thrown out onto the streets. The rain kept knocking on the window, creating a small beat. Man I miss music. It was one of the many things the robot destroyed. My old phone had tons of songs on it. I would've had saying I wasn't grounded. Yet I was, so it stayed with my parents at home.At some point I must've fallen asleep because I woke up with a small child bouncing on top of me.
"Mooooooooollyyyy, 5 more minuuuuuutes," I groaned.
"But people are already getting adopted," She groaned back. This caused me to shoot up and shove that shocked 8 year old out of my room. I quickly threw on my (f/c) hoodie and some black leggings. Why did nobody wake me up sooner? Now wasn't the time to be questioning everyone else. I grabbed my freshly packed suitcase and ran down right as one kid left. I counted up the kids that were hanging around the lobby. 1...2...10..17. So far 3 kids were missing. No one k was terribly attached to either. I sighed and sat next to Molly, who was chatting about who her new family would be.Time skip brought to you by Hetap. Hetap C'mon, you've killed for less.
It was down to three people. Molly, another girl named Ally, and me are currently waiting in the lobby. A young couple soon walk in and immediately look towards Molly. No, she can't be leaving already. I was heartbroken as I see them talk to Mrs. Jane.
"Molly! Please come here," Mrs. Jane called. Molly did just that. Shortly after, she runs into my arms. I knew what happened.
"Molly," I started to sob.
"(Y/n)?" She looked up at me. I wiped my tears away and put the biggest smile possible on my face. Her eyes glimmer as she goes to say bye to Mrs. Jane. I walk towards the couple, making sure Molly was nowhere to be seen.
"I swear to God if you do anything to hurt Molly, I will find you, and I will kill you." I glared at the two. Let's just say they left quickly afterwards. Ally was adopted not long after leaving me alone. I glancedat the clock 8:30. We close at 9. Suddenly, 4 people burst in, each panting.
"I-is any-one l-le-ft," a man in a green hoodie, trying catch his breath, said.
"Um, yes, just one," Mrs. Jane pointed towards me. Suddenly three pairs of eyes stare at me. Wait, does that guy have no eyes? Two of them approach me. One of them was ginger with what I think is a purple hoodie and a green overcoat? The other one had a red one. He gave off a dangerous vibe.
"Umm, Hi?" I waved, trying to give a good impression.
"Hi there! I'm Matt! And that guy is Todd!" 'Matt' exclaimed.
"Tord," The other guy corrected with a foreign accent.
"(Y/n), Nice to meet you," I start to get worried. What if they decide I'm not good enough and look for another orphanage? What if they do adopt me, only to leave me to die? What if they-
"Kid, you ok?" Tord raised his eyebrow. I nod.
"Matt! Bring the kids over here!" The Eyeless Wonder yelled.
"There's only one though," Matt replied. He then points towards Tord. I couldn't help but snicker. Tord glared at me before walking toward the other group. Matt then grabs my hand, forcing me to follow him. Once we arrive, the man in the green hoodie smiled," We're gonna take good care of yooooooou," He looked towards Matt. "(Y/n)," I tell him.
"(Y/n)! I should probably introduce myself, I'm Edd, The guy with the blue hoodie is Tom, and I'm fairly certain you've already met Tord and Matt," Edd pointed towards Tom, who was currently fighting with Tord. Edd and Matt started to walk out the door.
"Um, You two, Tom and Tord, The other two left," you pointed towards the door. They stop at an instant, grab both your arms, and bolted out the door. This is gonna be interesting.Well I hoped you enjoyed!
