"for the last time, i'm not helping you with algebra again, rog!" you whined, hugging your textbooks close to your chest as you walked alongside your best friend, roger, to his car out in the school parking lot.

the look on his face said it all, and he used his best puppy dog eyes to hopefully cause some sort of guilt within you. he was always good at that. who could possibly resist those crystal blue eyes?

certainly not you.

"oh, good god," you groaned as your eyes rolled dramatically. "fine!" a huff left you and you finally just narrowed your eyes and glared at him since he was still pouting.

roger perked up, the wrinkles around his mouth crinkling up as he smiled and nudged you playfully with his elbow. "i knew you'd give in," he murmured, almost to himself as he walked proudly toward his car. "no one can say no to this face," he boasted, his arms crossing; which made his muscles become prominent in the snugly fitted long sleeve t-shirt he was wearing.

and of course, your eyes caught every little flexing muscle that made your cheeks tinge with a rosy pink. you quickly looked off and away from him, praying he didn't notice it. you played your bashfulness off with a sigh and another roll of your eyes. "whatever. keep dreaming, blondie," you teased just as you slipped into the passenger side of his car and he got into the driver's seat. a few moments later, he was driving off toward his house with you in tow.

|| later that day... currently, the evening... ||

"if you do this over here, you've gotta do the same to the other side," you explained for what felt like the thousandth time that evening. your fingernail was pointing to the numbers and variables on roger's notebook paper that was filled with scribbles and equations of all kinds. "try again..."

roger sighed, one hand tangled in his hair as his forehead rested in the palm of his hand to keep himself propped up. he nodded, but to be honest, he hadn't been paying attention at all. in fact, he was only acting like he needed all the extra help only to keep hearing that sweet voice of yours he had grown to adore so much. once again, he tried — and once again, he failed.

which made you sigh in return.

"alright, let's just take a break," you suggested, finally giving up as you leaned back against the side of his bed. you looked over at him to find his eyes were already peering at you, that smug smirk of his on his lips. your brows knitted together and you narrowed your eyes. "what?"

he hummed, it slowly turning into a small whine as his bottom lip poked out just a little. "are you mad at me?" he questioned, his arms crossing again. tightly.

you grew suspicious of that.

"no, rog... why do you — no," you told him, your head shaking before you just reached over to playfully flick his elbow, which made him gasp playfully in return.

"i know you didn't just do that...." he muttered, his head shaking as he bit back an even bigger smirk and he moved a little closer to you. "you wouldn't be dumb enough to do that, would you?" he questioned, his brows perking up as he edged closer and closer until finally, he grabbed you by the shoulders and he pinned you to the ground; chuckles leaving him since it was all for fun. his hands slid from your shoulders and down to your sides, his fingertips working mercilessly at your ribs, hips, and stomach as he tickled you.

"s-stop!" you squealed, grinning widely as you squirmed around and tried to swat his hands away, which was no use, to no surprise. your face was turning red and you couldn't even stop the giggles leaving you. "roger daltrey! quit!" you squeaked, suffering for a few more moments through that torture until he finally quit.

you stared up at him; your chest heaving as your eyes bored into those eyes that made you feel like you were simply lost at sea. your surroundings dulled, and all you could focus on were the features of the boy hovering above you. you were quite aware that he was staring at you as well, but you couldn't read his thoughts. that bothered you beyond belief.

and he knew it.

"whatsamatter? cat got your tongue?" he asked, but he still didn't budge. his smirk still stained his lips and he edged closer and closer down toward you every few moments.

your breath hitched and you felt your cheeks grow darker and darker the closer he got. "n-no..." you managed to get out. you were more focused on the thought racing across your brain over and over again; was he about to kiss you?

roger seemed to know what your exact thoughts were, however, and he allowed his lips to brush lightly against your cheek. "let's learn some functions, shall we?" he whispered, his smirk as wide as ever as he hopped back up and he turned his textbook to the next page and he clicked at his pen to signal he was ready for more notes, as if nothing had just happened.

your eyes instantly narrowed and you sat up on your elbows as you glared a hole right through his head. "you're such a jerk," you huffed. "you always do that!" you whined, but that only made him laugh and shrug; which meant you had no chance at even arguing with that stubborn boy.

"sorry, doll. i got an exam tomorrow and i need you to help me through it," he told her, his eyebrows wiggling just a tad in hopes of you catching onto what he was getting at.

you nodded, completely understanding as you sat back up and you bit back a smile as you reached over to slowly close his book and you moved in front of him. "you just never seem to learn, do ya?"
