After a while, Chara pulled away from Frisk, sniffling and rubbing her eye. As soon as she did, Frisk turned away and gasped for fresh air. "No offense, but you reek!"

"I-I'm sorry." Chara said as she got in a somewhat defensive position with her arms.
Frisk faced her again with a smile. "I'm not gonna hurt you, it's okay. Besides, you've been dead for over a year, right?"
            "I-I think so."
Frisk stood up. "Let's get out of here now."
            "But... how?"
"Well... um...
"Did you not have a plan on how to get out?"
"I did, but... well, I tripped before I could set it up. I was gonna tie the rope in my backpack to a tree or something to climb up on."
"Good idea, but it wouldn't have worked anyways."
"Why?"
"I can't move my legs. Not yet, at least."
"You can't?"
"Nope. It's like I've been in a coma. Since I haven't utilized my legs in so long, my brain is new to using them again. It might take a while."
"Dang. Hmm... well, we definitely have to get home before mom. I guess I'll just have to carry you." Frisk smirked.
"Wh-what? Come again?" Chara blushed. "That's not gonna help my legs work."
"Not only that, but you need to take a shower. I don't think I can withstand this smell for long."
"W-well... I-I guess you could carry me." She said as she shyly looked away from Frisk. "And while you're carrying me, I can just focus on moving my feet at least--"
"Sounds like a plan!" She wrapped her arms around Chara's waist and lifted her. "You're lighter than I thought! Ha!" She then moved Chara onto her back. Chara's natural blush darkened as she wrapped her arms around Frisk's shoulders, her legs hanging from Frisk's waist. "Easy peasy, lemon squeezy!"

Frisk and Chara once again began an adventure to escape the abandoned underground society.

As they ventured through the ruins, Chara looked down at her legs, concentrating on wiggling her toes. "... I can't believe I'm human again..."

Frisk smiled. "It's exciting to finally meet you in person. You're so cute, even if you're covered in muck."

Frisk's comment brought a shade of pink to Chara's face. Out of embarrassment, she stuffed her face into the back of Frisk's shoulder. She pulled her face out of Frisk's shoulder, flustered. "I-I'm sorry!"

The sudden apology startled Frisk. "What for?" She asked.

"I... didn't mean to get your back dirty..." Chara answered embarrassed.

"It's already dirty, so it's fine." Frisk reassured. "It's gonna be difficult to get me mad at you, hot stuff."

The shade of pink on Chara's face darkened. "S-stop that!" She whined as she stuffed her face into the back of Frisk's shoulder again.
After leaving the Ruins and going into Snowdin, she looked at the floor over Frisk's shoulder. She started concentrating on her toes again. "...... I have to be a human again." Her mood went down like cement blocks in water.

"What's wrong with that?" Frisk asked.

"Humanity sucks."
            "Why do you say that?"
"You really need to ask? Look at who's president of the USA."
"Point taken. But not all humans are like that. There are plenty out there that are like me." Frisk smiled.
"I'd still rather be a monster than a human."
"Hm. Well, if it makes you feel any better, you're technically a zombie. Not a human. Zombies are monsters, so there."
"... I guess you're right." Suddenly, Chara exclaimed.

"Huh? What?" Frisk asked, confused.

"I... I just moved my big toe...!" Chara smiled brightly.

"You're right, that did take a while! An hour, I think..." She checked her watch. "Yep. get the rest of those piggies wiggling soon, cutie." Frisk smiled again.
