Lena stood in horror as she saw Ari in front of her on the soft hospital bed.
"Ari," she said in a soft voice, her hands shaking as all color drained from her face.
"Lena, I'm fine," Ari said. She wasn't. There was an IV tube hooked up to her. Her hair was thinner than ever, and she was just skin and bone.
"Ari... You're not..."
"Lena! I am fucking fine!" she shouted. The room fell silent.
"Ari, please listen to me," Lena choked out, stepping towards her. She squatted down, level with her girlfriend. "You're beautiful," she said, stroking her face softly. "You don't need to do th-"
"Hello, Mrs.Lena," a voice said, causing Lena to jump. "May I speak with you in the hallway?"
"Fuck off, doc. I know what's wrong with her. I just need to be alone with her."
"OOOOOOKAAAY THEN!!!!" the doctor said, walking out.
There Ari lay on the bed, limp and pale. Lena picked up a twinkie and crammed it in her lover's mouth. As Ari groaned and made sounds to protest, Lena only hushed her. "Shhhh... It'll all be over soon..." And with that, Ari was suffocated.
