The Last Day

Saying goodbye is never easy, no matter who or what your leaving behind. For me, saying goodbye was me leaving behind my friends, the house that I was raised in, and even leaving behind the country I was raised in since I was 6. For me, saying goodbye meant saying goodbye to my entire life. But, there's nothing I can do about this so there is no reason for me to dwell over moving. My mother was promoted and was transferred to California. I've heard of California many times, apparently I was born here before we moved to Australia.

The day came faster than I thought it would, but today was the day that I had to say goodbye. I thought I was prepared to leave, but the more time I had to myself, the more I realized what was happening. It sucks to have to leave everything and one that you know, but I have to get over it and accept that this is what is going to happened no matter what. Acceptance was hard, but I managed. When we got to California, I was kind of nervous about having to basically start my life completely for 6 feet under. Then it hit me, I still have school. I groaned when I realized this. ''Oh honey, I know what you're thinking, but you are going to love it here'', my mom said. ''Yeah, Kaede you just have to get used to being around new people and the different environment. Give this place a chance before you decide to hate it'', my dad said. I sighed but nodded. They do have a point. Unpacking was hell, but after 3 days we finished and slept all day the next day. It was amazing considering my parents hate when I try to sleep all day.

After the once in a lifetime opportunity to sleep all day, my mom told me that we were going to register me in school. I got dressed in black joggers, a white tank top, and black Vans. Getting registered took a while because I came from across the globe, but it finally happened. And, then I heard the dreaded words ''You start tomorrow'' come from the lady that I thought was nice until she said that.

My mom took me shopping because she thinks I wear too much black and white and should have new clothes for school. I picked out a lot of black and white things, but my mom only let me get some. I actually found a good amount off things that had color in them. We went to see a movie after, and when we got back, we ate dinner. My dad made nachos! We all watched a Kevin Hart movie and then went to bed early because of how early we had to get and out in the morning.

Tomorrow is the first day of your new life Kaede, I thought as I closed my eyes and fell asleep...
