In Rosecliff, everything was dramatic. It was as if we were all on the set of a never-ending movie; and the few popular kids (or royalties as my friend, Gabby, called them) were the main characters.

Most events almost seemed staged, or like it only belonged in a movie. The weird truth of it was, everything was real. Or at least that's how it looked from outside their clique.

The elite seven had been friends since we were all kids. They were always a group— except now they had more influence over the rest of us. Others like Klark and Jess joined later on in our high school careers, but they all were still connected at the hip.

Now, I saw just one of them strutting towards me— and most eyes were on her. The black skirt she was wearing flowed around her mid thigh as she walked, and her platinum blonde hair snaked around her waist. Eve.

Probably one of the most controlling girls in the Royalties, and in the cheerleading squad. Surprise, surprise, I know, the most popular girl is on the cheerleading team. Though, we all know she only does it because Klark and Fredrick play football.
Drawing my mind out from thinking about her, I actually looked up to find out why she was talking to me of all people. I never got noticed, by anyone important, or by any minor person in the school. As she came to a full stop in front of me, crossing her arms under her chest, multiple question arose to my mind— the main one asking why the fuck she was here like she expected something of me.

She opened her mouth slightly and made a 'tsk' noise with her tongue before addressing me.

"You coming to the party tonight?" She finally asked, her high pitched voice ringing through my ears.

I knitted my eyebrows together at the question. I hadn't been informed of a party tonight— which was strange because I normally would have heard it through eavesdropping on random conversations in the halls.

My expression must have sent a signal for explanation to her, because she said, "It's at Leo's. Starts at seven. And chill, I'm asking you personally because one, Leo needed to know who was going, and two, I don't have your number on my phone." She shook her phone in her hand for emphasis.

I mulled it over in my mind, then decided I would. Before the year started I'd made a deal with my only close friend, Gabby, that I would start being more social if she started actually trying academicly, seeing as her grades took are hard drop last year that had almost made her fail.

"Yeah, sure," I mumbled. She made another 'tsk' noise then opened her phone and typed something. Soon after, she strutted away towards a small group of people, most likely asking the same question.

I turned back to the beige locker and pulled out a heavy-ass book. Slamming the door, I managed to keep a hold on the doctor's excuse paper that had been threatening to flutter from my hands just moments before.

I glanced at the clock which read 12:25, and realizing I was going to be late for class, I started jogging down the hall. This was the only class I was almost always late for, I blamed it on being right after lunch and being the farthest class from my locker.

In my effort to actually make it on time to class, I attempted to dodge a tall male, failing miserably and tripping. I heard an exaggerated sigh from the person I tripped over. A disgusted expression spread across my face. Like, okay I could have been going slower and I probably shouldn't have through I could be some cool person who could dodge things like a pro, but don't fucking act like I just pissed in your cheerios.

Picking up my book, I looked up at who it was. And then I immediately knew why they had reacted like they had.

One of the Royalies, none other than Ezra Packerman. Arrogant, a womanizer, and pretty damn rich; just like the rest of them.

"Sorry, Your Highness." I sneered, pushing myself off the ground. No point in being polite, I wasn't going to get anything out of it.

He scoffed and turned, slinging his backpack back onto his shoulder. I watched him go for a moment, his long strides carrying him away at a fast pace, before I heard the bell ring. Cursing profusely, I found my excuse on the ground and rushed into the doorway.

The teacher sighed at me, shaking his head; but I don't know what he expects from me. I've always been late to his class. Maybe the problem is that he's always early to his own class. I shoved the excuse at him and threw myself into a seat near the back.

The classes went by in a blur of information I would never actually use, and before I knew it I was unlocking my car to go home.

As I walked through the parking lot, clicking the small button on my key fob, I scanned for the Royalities.

And sure enough, there they were and huddled in a group, their expensive cars all parked next to one another. Fredrick shoved Josh and made a comment that I couldn't hear from here, and they erupted in laughter, Eve flipping her hair over her shoulders dramatically. They seemed to glow in the warm sunlight, a few puffy clouds floating overhead. I hopped in my car once I reached it, giving one last glance to the group, only to find someone staring at me. Ezra. His eyes lingered for a bit before returning his gaze to the group, swatting Klark over the head and laughing.

That's it.

Meet the cast of Rosecliff High. Stick around for the show, and get comfy.
