"Pikachu won't live any longer, will he?" Ash asked sadly. The whole gang was stunned, and they could feel like something stucking in their throats. There was a silence between

"What? Just answer me, please!" Ash said

"Well, Ash. Pikachu is-" Serena said but got cut off by Clemont

"Pikachu is totally fine! Nurse Joy said he just needed some rest so his body could move again" Clemont said. Ash stepped forward him and looked at the male lemon blonde with sadness in his eyes

"Clemont, please, tell the truth. Pikachu is gonna dead, right?" Ash asked

"No, Pikachu will be alive, you'll see!" Clemont lied to Ash, but luckily Ash trusted him

"Thanks for telling me, Clemont. I gotta go. I'll be back" Ash said then left, with Clemont sighed in relief after that. However, Ash didn't believe much. He could feel that his friends were lying about something. But he forgot it and went to do something

Back to the gang, they went inside Pikachu's emergency room. The whole room was silent, only machine's sound could be heard. They sat down beside Pikachu, who was lying on his bed, waiting desperately for his upcoming death. After a while, a sob from Bonnie broke the silence

"Just face it! We can't hide this! Soon Ash will..." She couldn't finish her sentence. Serena then embraced her for a hug, but some tears could be seen from both the girls' eye

"Don't worry. We just need to hide this long enough, then we'll tell him someday... hopefully..." Clemont said and looked out the window. The same tree outside still fell some leaves, and still counted down Pikachu's seconds of alive

"The weather is quite cold today, right guys?" Clemont asked. He was right. The weather was cold, cold from sadness. The sky was gloomy, with the sun couldn't be found. The atmosphere was perfect for Pikachu's farewell.

Serena held up Pikachu's paralyzed arm, with her forehead gently touched Pikachu's. Tears started streaming from her eyes.

"Sorry, Pikachu. You shouldn't be like this" Serena said, just like what Ash would say if he knew Pikachu's only got seconds to live.

Meanwhile, Ash was looking for something in the store. As he went pass a counter, he saw a boy with his Pikachu. He was holding a Thunderstone, about to evolve his Pikachu into Raichu. Ash chuckled at the scene, then he remembered something happened that was the same

*flashback*

Back to Kanto, 20 years ago. Pikachu was recovering from his Pokemon battle, which ended with a lost. Lt. Surge's Raichu was too powerful for him, so Pikachu needed something to outmatch him

Nurse Joy opened a box, revealing a Thunderstone inside. With that, Pikachu would evolve to Raichu and equal Raichu's strength. Ash was hesitated about this, but he let Pikachu chose
