ARCHIE TATE was much like his best friend Lydia Martin. He was practically a genius, he was popular and had a thing for really cute guys. Though he didn't come from a rich family like Lydia he became the strawberry blonde's best friend from all the AP classes the two shared.

But there was always one thing that make Archie different from everyone else. He was known as a werecoyote. Very rare and very dangerous. They were like werewolves in some ways.

The brunette had never met a werewolf before and had no idea he would meet one on the first day of Sophomore year. It was the year everything was gonna change for Archie.

It started when Lydia's boyfriend, Jackson Whittemore, asked Arch to try out for the schools biggest sport, lacrosse. Archie wasn't very athletic but with some very annoying persuasion from Lydia he couldn't say no.

So that brought Archie Tate to dread the first day of school as he stood by the entrance waiting for the said strawberry blonde to show up. Archie would usually mind his own business and ignore how his super coyote hearing allowed him to listen into conversations but when he heard the word wolf come from the mouths of Stiles Stilinski and Scott McCall he had to listen.

"Okay, let's see this thing," Stiles said. Scott lifted his shirt up and showed his best friend where he was bit.

"Ooh!"

"Yeah. Whoa! It was too dark to see much, but I'm pretty sure it was a wolf."

"A wolf bit you?"

"Uh-huh."

"No, not a chance."

"I heard a wolf howling." That caused Archie to raise an eyebrow. Could there really be a werewolf if Beacon Hills? If so then could Scott be one too?

"No, you didn't"

"What do you mean, no, I didn't? How do you know what I heard?"

"Because California doesn't have wolves, okay? Not in like 60 years."

"Really?"

"Yes, really. There are no wolves in California."

"All right, well, if you don't believe me about the wolf, then you're definitely not gonna believe me about when I tell you I found the body."
