Chapter 7 - You and Me 👫

"Bakit ganyan mata mo? Nakatulog ka ba?" Jia asked me. I didn't even get a good sleep last night because of our talk. Damn you, Marck. Bakit kailangan mo pang umepal?

"I can't sleep last night, Ji." I said and let my head rest on her shoulder. This is our last day here in Singapore and we'll be flying back to Philippines tomorrow.

Pinayagan yung ibang Lady Eagles na mag stay muna dito ng isang araw at yung iba naman ay umuwi na ng Pilipinas.

"Why? Masyado mo na naman ba akong inisip kagabi, ha?" She joked. I'm glad that she's back in her old self now. I hope she's not faking it.

"Yup, I can't sleep because I'm already planning how will you fall for me." Of course, hindi ko sasabihing nakausap ko si Marck kagabi. I looked at Jia and I saw her smile.

"Fall for me, Jia. Will you?" I asked again. I'm not scared of being rejected by her again. I'm used to it.

"Just wait, Miguel. We'll get there." Jia said and I can see sincerity in her eyes after saying those words. I'll wait, Jia. I'll never get tired of waiting.

We just enjoy our last day here in Singapore. We took a lot of pictures and I made sure that I gave her a lot of memories that she won't forget.

"Kung nakilala kaya kita ng mas maaga, sayo kaya ako maiinlove?" Jia asked me. I smiled at her and tap her head lightly.

"Of course, Ji. You'll fall for my charms I'm cute but I don't have abs but I'm still cute." I said and pinched her cheeks.

"Cute ka ba?" Jia said while giving me a judgmental look.

"My parents told me I'm cute and I always believe in them." Napailing na lang si Jia.

"Ji, can I ask you a question?" Hindi ko alam kung anong pumasok sa utak ko at gusto kong tanungin ito sa kanya.

"Ano yun?" I stared at her. She looks confused.

"What if Marck suddenly appear in your life again. What if bigla niyang sinabing kayo na lang ulit. What if he said that he's still in love with you.? I don't know where did I have the guts to ask her that question.

"Yung totoo, hindi ko din alam eh." I should be ready for this. Ang tanga mo din kasi Miguel eh. Magtatanong tanong ka tapos ngayon nasasaktan ka.

"Hindi ko alam ang gagawin ko kapag bigla na lang siyang magpakita sa harapan ko at sabihin niyang mahal niya pa din ako. A part of me will get mad, of course. Anong tingin niya sa akin? Isang bagay na pwede niyang iwan kapag nagsawa na siya at babalikan niya na lang kung kailan niya gusto?" Tiningnan ko si Jia at sobrang seryoso niya.

"Will you give him a second chance?" I asked her once again. Go ahead, Miguel. Ask her questions and then regret it later.

"I don't know too." She said and then she looked at me. I tried to smile at her but it seems fake. I'm not good at faking my expressions! Nagulat na lang ako ng biglang hawakan ni Jia ang mukha ko at marahang hinaplos ang aking pisngi.

"I don't know, Miguel. But one thing's for sure. Gusto kong magmove-on. Gusto ko na siyang kalimutan. Gusto kong tanggapin na naging parte lang siya ng aking nakaraan. At para na rin sa susunod na tatanungin mo ako tungkol sa kanya, ang tanging isasagot ko na lang sayo ay HINDI." I was speechless for a moment. I can't find the right words to say.

"Miguel, you'll help me fall for you right?" Dugtong pa ni Jia. Tumango ako sa tanong niya.

"Of course, Ji! I will help you." I said. I will always help you, Jia. I'm always here.

"Thank you, Miguel." Sabi ni Jia marahan akong niyakap. I hugged her back and I gently kissed the top of her head.

"Jia, leave everything here in Singapore. Leave all your memories here. At para kapag bumalik na tayo sa Pilipinas, ang meron na lang ay IKAW at AKO at wala nang SIYA. We'll have our own shared memories and I promise you, I'll make you happy everday and I will love you each day. Promise me that you will cooperate this time." Sabi ko at hinawakan niya ng mahigpit ang kamay ko.

"I will cooperate from now on, Miguel. I will let go all the memories I have here in Singapore. And I'll make sure na kapag naka-balik na tayo sa Pilipinas, ang meron na lang ay TAYO. No more Marck, just the two of us. Just you and me, Miguel."
