What Just Happened

Amaia Pov

I walk around my house nervously waiting for Matthew to reach to meet my parents and sadly he was already an half hour late.

Matthew and I had been dating for three months and counting and my parents had been waiting for the say they would meet him.

My one fear for today was that he would forget the rules.

1. Don't drink or smoke before hand.
2. Dont be late.
3. Be respectful
4. Wait to be offered.

I know it sounds weird but my parents wanted me to date a sophisticated man so once I told them he worked at a fast food restaurant they were unpleased and told me to break up with him. So we made a deal that they had to meet him first.

The door bell rings

"I'll get it." I tell my mom and dad and I pull down my dress to show more Cleverage and I open the door.

"Hey Matthew." I say smiling at him.

"Hey babe." He says kissing me and I nearly choke on the smoke lingering in his mouth.

"Good afternoon Matthew what brings you here 45 minutes late." My dad says checking his watch.

"I needed to talk a smoke beforehand I was kind of nervous to meet you." He says honestly and I smack my head with my hand.

"Amaia I don't know about this one." My mother says giving Matthew a look.

"Mom give him a chance okay not everyone is perfect." I say and she nods her head.

"Well pets partake in dinner." My dad says as he escorts us to the dinning room.

I stand by my chair waiting for Matthew to pull my chair for me but instead he sits at the head of the table,my dads seat, while he pushes in my moms chair and digs in.

I sit in my seat and I watch my dad giving Matthew the stink eye.

"Get out of my house." My dad says to Matthew and I turn to see him stuffing his face.

"But I love her." He says with food in his mouth.

"Amaia this is the person you bring to our house!" My mother shouts at me and I start tearing up and I look out the windows and I see something move outside.

"D-dad there's someone outside the windows." I say standing up and moving closer to the window wall as we called it.

"AMAIA GET DOWN." Matthew shouts, as im shot in the arm and he pull me down under the table.

"Matthew what just happened." I say looking at my wounded arm and I see my dads arm and a blood trail under the table.

I slowly get out from under the table and I walk around this see a puddle of blood with my parents in them.

"MOM DAD NOO." I say kneeling on the grounding trying to shake them up.

I place my head on my father chest to here

Nothing.

Theyre gone Amaia....they're gone." Matthew says trying to comfort me.

"They're not gone they're alive call the ambulance." I say as hopeful as I can and he takes out his phone and does so.

"Mummy...Daddy what was that noise." I hear my sister Bella says as she slowly walks down the stairs.

I run to her and grab her from the stairs and run outside of the house to see police and an ambulance outside.

"Why are you bleeding?" Bella asks me looking at my bleeding arm.

"I just hurt myself." I say and she nods her head.

I watch as people go in with with stretchers and body bags and I pray to god they won't come back out in them.

As I wait hopefully for for them to be fine Matthew comes back and my parents are back on the stretchers but sadly in body bags.

Matthew hugs me tightly as I cry into his shoulder.

"Was that mummy and daddy." Bella says softly and I sees her face swell as thought its about to burst in tears.

"No its not." Matthew says kissing her forehead.

Matthew takes Bella away from me as I tell the police what happened and eventually they leave.

"I don't want to go back in there." I tell Matthew as he makes his way back to me with Bella half asleep in his arms.

"You and Bella could stay with me for the night." He says and I nod my head.
