"LGBT is a sin"

"LGBT Members are to be shot on sight"

"If you see an LGBT act! Please report it immediately"

"Be the one to make a change!   Vote NO on LGBT Rights"

                                    "Gay Marriage is a sin"
-
These were the words I heard on a daily basis, these words are..

Homophobic.

Hi. I'm Kailey, an former student at MHS with a 2.5 GPA. Also I'm a Lesbian or I like girls. Right now this kind of act is Illegal. I could be killed or sent to a Concentration Camp if I'm not careful.

I'm considered sick. Or a freak.
I need to be treated for this "sickness".
I'm not "healthy".
This isn't considered "Normal"

But what's considered normal? Falling in love with a man twice your age and having kids? Or falling in love with a man who then leaves you for another.

-
"Kailey! Your going to be late for school! Again!"

"I'm up! I'm up! It's not like anyone would care" I yelled from my room.

"Just get up okay" said my Mom.

"I'm heading to work, I trust you to get yourself to school" said my mom from the doorway of my room.

"Can I take the car?" I said smirking.

"Sure, Drive safe. The keys are on the counter" spoke my mom.

-

I stood up and went to my closet to pick clothes to wear.

Flannel. Ripped Jeans. Converses. Beanie.

What more can a Lesbian need?

I walked down the stairs and went into the Kitchen.

"No food as usual, Only alcohol" I said opening a cabinet filled with bottles of Alcohol.

I grabbed an Apple from the fridge and walked out the door. As I was locking the door, the chants. The chants of Homophobic people arose from the depths of Hell.

I stood there and watched them as they walked onto my front lawn.

"Your a living Sin!"

          "You should be dead!"

                    "Go kill yourself Fag!"

I ignored them like I do every morning until one got my attention. I started walking to my car when one of them grabbed my wrist and shouted,

"You should be dead, just like your father!"

click!

I stared deeply in their eyes, with a hatred.
I wanted to cry, but also wanted to rage.

"You do not speak of my Father. My Father was a man of Wisdom! You killed my Father! He did everything to protect my family! My sister, my mom, and myself! You do not speak of my Father" I spoke.

I got in my car and locked the door. Person after person yelled at me about my Father. Telling lies about him and his work.

I backed out into the street and rolled down my window. I stared into the eyes of the lady who spoke of my Father.

I rolled down my window and said,

"No rights means no Safety, right?"
