❣️Kokoro❣️

"Hi, um, I'm Kokoro, I'm the new-"

"Class!" My new Maths teacher boomed. "We have a new student! Introduce yourself." He pushed me forward, and I glanced helplessly at Mark, who was watching through the door to check I was okay, before going to his new class.

"Um, Hi everyone." I tucked my hair behind my ear nervously. "My name is Kokoro, but everyone calls me Ro. I'm from America, and- um, yeah. Please take care of me, as I'm new." I bowed politely.

"Since you're new, the only seat left is right at the back," Dr Wong told me. "But this doesn't mean you can slack, as you still have all the work from last semester to catch up on. However, it does work out quite nicely, as your buddy the school has assigned you, is next to you." Dr Wong looked up. "That doesn't mean any mucking about Wang! And Kunpimook, I'm looking at you!" He glared at two boys at the back, and I tried to suppress a groan.

Great. One of my most important classes, and I'm stuck next to the two troublemakers. At the back, no less. This was going to be a fun year.

Not.

I smiled at Mark to let him know hat I was okay, and dragged my feet towards the empty seat at the back.

I took out a fresh notebook from my backpack, and opened my pencil-case, ready to start learning all about quadratic equations, when a hand reached out, and stole a pen from the case.

"Hey!" I whisper-shouted, turning to face a muscular boy with bleached blonde hair, who was smirking at me, twirling my pen in his hand. "What's your damage?"

"Woah, I just wanted to introduce myself." He chuckled, not bothering to lower his voice. "I'm the wild and sexy Jackson." He wiggles his eyebrows in what he obviously thought was an endearing way, however I just rolled my eyes, and snatched the pen back from him, as I turned to face the board again.

However, I realised that Jackson wasn't going to give up so easily.

"Wah! So rude! You don't even give me your name?"

"You know it already." I reply coldly.

"Oh yeah, Ro, right." He grinned.

"Kokoro to you."

"Nah, I want a nickname for you, babe."

I snorted, and gave him a disdainful look.

"I'm thinking... Koko! No, Kiki!" He clapped his hands.

"How the hell did you get from Kokoro to Kiki?" I snapped.

"Omo, she swears!" He mockingly acted surprised. "Don't worry, Kiki, I won't tell anyone."

"You can call me Kiki," I said, and he flipped his hair, confident he had won me over, "But I won't respond, see, Kiki isn't my name." It was my turn to smirk, "You can call me Kokoro Noona though." I turned back to my notes, completing them with a satisfied flourish.

But of course he wasn't done.

About fifteen minutes later, Dr Wong set us to work in silence on the maths problems on the board, while he went to go and collect some papers from his office.

"Hey, Kiki?" Jackson asked.

"What?" I groaned.

"Hah! You answered to Kiki! It's your new name!" He snickered, and high-fived the boy on my other side.

I cursed myself silently, and turned to face the other boy, giving him a wink, and then asking, "So, what's your name then?"

"BamBam," He replied, fixing his bright turquoise hair subconsciously.

"So, you must be my buddy then." I smiled brightly, trying to forget his handshake with Jackson earlier. "It'll be nice to get to-"

"No, no." He giggled. "I'm not your buddy..."

A rising sense of dread began to fill my body.

"...He is."

Oh, shit.

"I'm just trying to get to know my new buddy, Kiki." Jackson told me.

I said nothing but groaned, and rested my head on the desk.

Undeterred by my obvious annoyance, he persevered. "So, you're from America, huh. Aren't you a little far away from Kansas?"

That was it.

"Aren't you a little cocky for someone with a little cock? And FYI, I'm from New York." BamBam lost his shit, which of course was when Dr Wong came back into the classroom.

"Do I need to move you, Miss Katsuda?" He asked.

"No, sir, mianne."

Jackson, who had been pink in the face after my comment, smirked (again!), and whispered under his breath.

"Just can't stay away, Kiki."

I almost flipped the desk. This was going to be a long 45 minutes, and I hadn't even found out who Marks friends were yet. Thank God it's lunchtime after this.
