“You don't deserve all this” he says, and he raises his hand. I flinch, but it still hurts. And again, and again. I feel my skin open, sticky red blood rising to the surface. I've felt this before. And often. “You're lucky I don't just kill you.” I want to answer him. I want to shout I wish you would! But I don't. Because he'll just make it hurt more. He'll just hit harder.
There's a flash, out of the corner of my eye. Metal. A knife. He has found yet another way to hurt me. I wish I was dead already. As the silver blade cuts into my skin, I know what I will do tomorrow. I know how to end this, once and for all.
