I can't believe they could say those things.

Not about Les.

Not about anyone.

I know I'm getting angry and I have to be careful what I say now, because if I say something wrong the media will attack me for being violent. But I can't just say nothing. I can't just let them attack Les like this.

I don't pay much attention to the rest of the interview. We do a quick performance, and then it's back to the hotel room.

I don't know what I'd do if Les was watching.

But I don't think she was.

Silver.

Red.

So much red.

Liam will be too late.

Everyone is too late.

I head into my room first.

Set down my things.

I want to sit and rest but I have to make sure Les is alright first.

I have to make sure she wasn't watching.

And if she was, I have to make sure she knows how much I love her.

Everything's fading.

Daddy, Liam, Niall, tweets, the bathroom.

It's all turning black.

And I'm okay with that.

I want it to go now.

Niall slips into my room without even knocking.

“So that was rough” he says. I hang my coat over the back of a chair before answering him. I don't know how to answer him.

“Yeah” I finally say.

“How could they say those things?”

“Every time we even look at a girl, they say those things” I whisper. “It isn't fair.”

“It sucks” Niall says. “Have you seen Les yet?”

“I'm about to go check on her. You don't think she was watching, do you?”

“No way. She's probably asleep or something.”

“Yeah.”
