Briant gave Emmett and Lilian time alone together to discuss the birth and be together as a family. Emmett appeared after just an hour to request food for himself, Lilian and their son. His delight at being a father had refueled his energies and he was refusing to sleep after their ordeal. Aveira gave in to his request and delivered enough meat for two adults and a bowl of ground up meat.

"If Lilian adds her own milk to it, it should be more than sufficient for a new born." She smiled at him as she handed it over. It was the diet of every new born lycan, but Emmett only laughed at her.

"I am sorry Aveira, but Eaven wants meat and if it is meat he wishes, it will be meat he is given. I cannot deny a child who can make his own demands from birth." He laughed happily. She was shocked at the explanation, but he took the food thankfully. "I will share with my son. We are very grateful for your assistance." He explained, before leaving again.

When Aveira got back to the camp fire and sat down by Briant again, however, she was most bewildered. Lycan children didn't eat meat until at least eight months old. "What is wrong child?" Malik wondered as she took her seat.

"Emmett is going to feed the child meat. As he would eat." She explained why she looked confused. And for the few moments afterward, the three shared the same confusion and wonderment over what exactly Eaven was going to be. He was no lycan if he could call out from his mothers womb before birth and he was certainly no vampire if he desired meat straight from the womb. So what exactly was he? No-one knew. And no-one was going to find out until he began to grow up and explore his skills and powers. Briant was the only one who worried about that.

He decided that, now Eaven was born, Emmett couldn't wish to keep his relationship with Lilian a secret any longer. They would be united in just a nights time, when he and Aveira were also to be united. It was time to reveal the news to their father.

That task fell to Briant. So he sat before the camp fire and watched the flames with a stare of concentration, willing his mind to connect to his fathers. He felt the small recognition of a fire in the hearth of the cabin and his mother Evantha passed him with a shawl draped across her shoulders. She was cold. He could sense his father deciding to rise from his seat, to do something about it, but before he could, he felt Briant inside his head.

"That is not wise child, unless you wish to know secrets your mother and I share." Caspar scolded his son for not making his presence known sooner. It was not the best idea for a son to go creeping into his fathers mind when he was having particular thoughts about his mother. But Briant didn't bother rushing to make an apology. He was struggling to hold onto the connection, so he briefly explained that he was sorry. He was sloppy because he was tired.

"It has been a long, tiring day father and there is much to tell you. Firstly, Emmett and I are well. We are here together at Malik's clan as I have heard the call for his daughter Aveira. We are to be united tomorrow night." Briant began with the news that would ease Caspar into the conversation the best. He didn't want to shock him right off, but he was right, Caspar found his impending union a relief and a blessing all in one. He didn't want to interrupt his son because he could tell that he found the task of relating the news to him troubling. But he already knew about Lilian and the pregnancy from Damian and so was fully prepared for whatever Briant was about to tell him.

"Secondly, it will please you to hear that Emmett has also found his mate...in rather unusual circumstances." He continued, only making Caspar smile at how difficult he actually found it to say that his brother had fallen in love with a vampire. It might have been the first time in the entire history of lycans and vampires, but it wasn't the end of the world. Not as he saw it. And considering that he saw quite a lot of the present and more of the past and future through his new gift as clan leader, that was saying a lot.
