He opened his eyes slowly, his hands protectively over his shivering body and exhausted face. The thing just stood there, towering over what was a worn down bed.

A silent like staring contest seemed to take place before the monster went out of the room, as soon as it's footsteps disappeared Dwight sat up to fully make sense of what just happened. Dwight took this time to quickly clean the grime and dirt off of his glasses, shaking his thoughts away comming to the conclusion that he would probably be it's next meal if he stook around any longer. That's if the monster wasn't just killing for sport, he shivered.

He looked around the damp wooden room, well shack really; there was only one room, a bed, two large chests and a bath on the other side of the room. Sitting above him on the worn walls, a wooden shelf trailing the entire room with a number of trinkets and random objects filling the shelf. It was shelter from the howling wind and rain, but didn't offer much warmth. The shack itself holding a stale damp smell from previous storms.

Crreeek.
The door opened and Dwight quickly laid back down as the frantic weather desperately tried to get in. The monster stepped back into the creaky room and went straight over to one of the chests, Dwight squinted his eyes, hoping it looked like he was sleeping and not snooping. After it got what it wanted the thing walked over, shutting his eyes for real, expecting the monster to have changed it's mind on mercy. Instead, The monster seemingly crept closer, that constant animalistic gurgle became more apparent to Dwight, making him wince and shake uncontrollably while whispering apologies and pleas in fear, convinced that the thing was threatening him.
Instead the thing set somthing down onto the stained mattress and immediately left once again into the wind.

A med kit? Dwight's eyebrows knitted together. Dwight paused, looking around anxiously until skittishly taking off his shirt to tend to his wound. He opened the med kit, fighting the impulse to kiss it upon finding all the materials needed. Okay keep it together Dwight, he thought as he picked up the bottle of disinfectant. Wasting no time he twisted his back and poured the hellish liquid onto the cut. He yanked his head forward and cradled the bottle, trying to not let out a sound, hissing through his teeth. Dwight then got bandages out of the med kit and began to wrap it firmly around his shoulder, thanking his lucky starts that the cut wasn't deep enough for stitches.

Shakily, he carefully directed his arm into his tattered shirt. Breathing harshly to hide his pained whimpers as he used his good arm to fasten his buttons in a frantic fashion. Dwight didn't want to stay around for that Thing to come back, after all it's breif show of kindness could just be to gain his trust; just like the rest of the shit-stain of people back at home.

Dwight slowly moved from the bed, creeping over to the door, cursing in a hushed tone everytime a loose floorboard creeked. When he finally got towards the door he could hear the blood rushing to his ears as doubts arised. Yet Dwight pushed past them as he leaned his hand against the door.
