Another day passes by of waiting, seeing if I got the trip to Hawaii.
"What if they don't pick me?!" I started yelling to my fiancé, Darius.
Darius hugs me, and reassures me everything will be alright.
I entered a contest a couple weeks ago, to win a free trip to Hawaii at my local corner store. I was the best competition, not to brag. Nevertheless, I wasn't about to lose to a bunch of recovering heroine addicts. I entered about 15 times, so the chances of me not winning are slim. As I predicted , I got a call.
"Hello! Welcome, from BusinessNationalAdvancements, you've won a free trip to Hawaii. We will have a taxi ready for you in 3 hours, so pack your bags, the trip is on us." Says the auto-generated female voice.
The taxi pulls up a couple hours later, and I kiss my fiancé goodbye. That was the last time I was actually normal. The last time I saw my fiancé , he was oddly happy I was leaving. And so was I.
