The world was once made of many all flowing souls around in harmony. Some parts were cold, some were hot and then some were just right. But never the less, no matter the world, there is always one who is sick. The one whose wounds are left festering due to those who can't see; those who won't see. And this sickness spread drying up everything it touched. Revealing ugly truths called mountains and when one left the world leaving only a barren place. This continues on and now there's a whole sea worth of souls gone only leaving behind bones and sand. And some were able to bare the cold of the mountains by layering themselves, becoming packed ice and snow. Yet though these were all very dramatic transformations for this dying world one would never be as sad or unforgivable as the one that caused the Grand Canyon. It was a massacre starting with one boy left stranded and alone by the ones who were supposed to protect him. He only wanted a home and so he went in search of one and then he found the most beautiful of places that anyone could lay their eyes on. The infected saw it too and wanted it for themselves.
How was anyone to know that one could cause so much strife. The Elder saw him as a danger and wouldn't let him into their land, for he knew that the land was far seemed and wouldn't lay any into his people's land. Not knowing that the danger was much greater than one silly boy. The boy knew this and so he begged them to let him in. So with a heavy heart he decided to protect the land even though he knew that no one would ever let him in. He proved himself in so many ways. He fought their dangers for them. He humiliated himself for them. He sacrificed everything for them in their name. The new Elder recognized this and gave him his eldest child who was as beautiful as the land itself along with a trusted servant who becomes the boy's friend.
The chosen felt betrayed by their father and the first heartbreak them barren.
Together the boy, now man, and his chosen protected the lands outside its barrier, while the servant prepared the home. They couple was unstoppable, and together they defeated the lands enemies and came home to each other's awaiting arms. One day the man came home to see his chosen in the arms of the servant. Filled with rage he kills them both and goes into a deep sleep due to his heartbreak. This created a crack inside the Earth. The outer border becomes dust, the ones he killed blood tainting it red. The Elder hears of the man's betrayal and the killing of his eldest along with one of his most loyal comrades and then buried the man in his slumber along with his chosen and their lover in embrace, so that he when he woke, he would never see the beautiful land again; forever being reminded of who he loved and slain. The man woke and his tears were black stained by the dirty ash of his dead loved ones. With no one to protect the people of the land died. He listened to their screams from slaughter as he tried to crawl back to the surface. His fingers driving deep grooves into the land as he tried to climb out of his loved ones graves. He was too late. The people were dead and all that was left behind were their red stained ashes. Weak from lack of nourishment, with all his might the man cut his wrist and a small bit of clear, green tinted, blood flowed from it creating the river inside the crate. He then sat in the middle of his pooling blood, his weight making the crevice even larger and larger until he was no more.
