•Hi Wattpad! Well, this is my first Wattpad story (on this account.) In a weird way, this a partial true story, because it's about my best friend and I. (@0hlauren) The storyline is not very true, though. If you like dramas, romances, mysteries, tear jerking, and heartwarming stories, you'll love this one! Guaranteed your approval :)

•Enjoy!

Chapter 1~ Lauren~

I awoke to the sound of an unknown rustling near the foot of my bed. Alarmed, I shot upright, entangled in my sheets and thin summer duvet, and investigated the area, my eyes still heavy from sleep. Emotions raged inside of me as a mixture of fear and acute annoyance; more of an annoyance, though. Anger boiled inside of me when I discovered that there was a beige, blurry blob scurrying on the floor.

"Coco," I complained, raking my fingers through my knotty hair. "You silly puppy."

Coco looked up at me with her small, curious eyes and let out a high, "Ruff!" in reply. She then ran off.

I guess that was the time to wake up. Reluctantly, I dragged myself out of my bed and stood up. After a brief head rush, I leisurely zombie-walked up to the bedroom window and yanked the curtain ajar. The sudden sunlight caused me to squint my vulnerable, sleepy eyes. After they adjusted, I was able to appreciate the beauty of the pinkish sunrise. The sun was just flirting with the horizon, sending rays of orange and pink across the neighborhood. The sight managed to make me smile; that was a decent way to launch off the day.

Speaking of the day: I'd have to start getting ready to go. Stifling an excited squeal, I skipped over to Nicole's bed. Clearly, my usual energy had returned to me. Nicole was consumed in a deep sleep; her mouth was wide open, she was flinching, and her long blonde hair was fanned messily out on her pillow. Smirking, I giddied over to my side of the room and grabbed my monstrous teddy bear- it was nearly taller than me.

"Sorry, chikita," I mumbled, and with all the strength within me, I thrust the bear at Nicole's sleeping face to wake her up.

I watched her gray-tinted eyes open to the size of a bug's, and she seemed bewildered, looking around wildly. But of course, she was too lazy to actually sit up. Realization must've hit her-no pun intended- so she groaned in a thick, raspy, sleepy voice.

"Good morning, Sleeping Beauty," I joked, not being able to contain my grin. "Guess what day it is."

At that, she sprung out of bed and jumped in front of me. She hastily grabbed my shoulders with her iron grip.

"It's July 1st?" she queried, green eyes luminous.

"Yes," I winced. "But you're hurting my shoulders."

"Oh my marry saint Jesus! It's truly the day?" She began to shake my shoulders, causing my teeth to rattle.

I managed to open my mouth and demand,"Nicole. Calm down."

She immediately freed my shoulders. "Oops! Sorry!" she flashed an apologetic smile. "I got really excited there."

"It's alright," I said, rubbing my shoulder blades. "I guess it was karma."

Nicole laughed and her eyes widened again in some sort of realization. "I have to get ready! Oh, and we have to pack the car, get all the money we need, and I have to choose a good outfit to impress-"

"Um, Nic," I chuckled, holding up a palm. "It's only 6 A.M. Don't sweat it. We have two hours until we have to leave."

She pursed her lips. "Right..."
