I open my eyes to another dark day and I have to be honest with you. I'm getting pretty sick and tired of it. My name is Argo and basically, I'm the last person alive on earth... Since you are new at this I am definitely going to have to explain a few things. Ok... 300 years ago Earth was attacked by creatures called Shadows. Basically shadows are pretty much monsters that eat peoples souls leaving them dead. Yeah its pretty freaky. Within a matter of minutes Earth was swallowed by the shadows and every person was murdered... And just like that, the human race ceased to exist...
Now don't get all emotional yet! I'm not finished. The world stayed like this for a looong time before something pretty amazing happened. A single drop of light pierced through the darkness and the first lightbearer was born. Pretty frickin cool right? His name was Joseph Sterling and he was going to save the world, but again things got complicated. Like every lightbearer, Joseph sorta "teleported" to the world of light. I don't really know much about it, but I call it Dawn, where its always light and beautiful. In Dawn Joseph started a new civilization with one goal to save Earth. Its in Dawn where all lightbearers begin their training. What training? Oh that's right you're new. Sorry its gonna take some time to get used to this.
All lightbearers are born with special abilities. They're kind of like superpowers but cooler. You see all of the powers are for very specific points in time. They might not make sense when you first get them but they always play an important role in a lightbearers life. Like the ability to breath under water because you will need it one day or super strength because you will use it to save someone. Cool right!
You are probably asking yourself something right now. If the lightbearers are so amazing then why haven't done anything. If they are as amazing as I'm making out to be then why are they still sitting on their butts? Well... This is where it gets complicated. There is a link that connects the two worlds and it is literally impossible to travel in between them without going through this link. Super long story short the bridge was destroyed and no one can fix it.
So is that it? Is the world going to be covered in darkness forever? No. Even in the darkest hours there's always hope. Right before Joseph Sterling died he foretold a savior that will once again connect the two worlds, and carry the light back to earth. The very last word he said was "dark"... No one really knows what he meant. Some people think he didn't mean anything, that he was just talking, but others are still waiting for their savior. The bridge between the worlds.
Well that about wraps it up. Listen. This isn't gonna be a happy story or a fairy tale. Honestly the world doesn't work that way.
Well I'm gonna go... Wait, what did you say? What, about me? Fine but only on a need to know bases. My name is Argus, but I prefer Argo. I've been on Earth for about a year now which makes me about 17. And... Ummm. I'm kind of a lightbearer. I know, I know. Lightbearers are supposed to go to the world of light when they are born. Well I wasn't. I don't know why or how its even possible. All I know is that it happened and now I'm stuck here. In the dark. Completely alone...
