All I remember is running, pain, blood, and nothing more. Not my past, not my present, everything... even my name.
Artemis pov
I sat perched in a tree getting restless, I had been waiting for a week already. The fates had told me I would find an immeasurable and valuable asset to the hunt.
I have gone on hunts alone before and spend weeks absorbed in tracking my prey. This was the first time in a millennia I had to wait for my prize.
Getting up, I was about to leave when the sound of a fierce fight broke the silence. I didn't have to wait long before a pack of 20 hellhounds, each the size of a garbage truck broke into the clearing. Followed by an enormous and powerful wolf, which they quickly surrounded.
I watched in amazement as the wolf decimated the hellhounds. In a matter of seconds none were left. So focused was I on the the noble creature, I hadn't noticed the cyclops that swung its club that smashed into the wolfs head, the impact sent him through a tree across the clearing.
I quickly notched an arrow about to burry it into the cyclops' head when, shakily the wolf stood up and I saw the intelligent eyes it possessed, but full of anger. However, I noticed it took some serious damage and would be in trouble soon.
Unknown pov
I chased down a pack of hell hounds my mother had sent me after. I knew in the clearing ahead they would try to turn the tables, but little do they know it will only lead to their demise.
Seconds after they entered the open space, I barreled through after them. Right as my head broke through the bushes the hellhounds were already waiting to spring their trap.
They pounced on me all at once, just as I cleared any obstacles. Yet one by one they fell, and in seconds they lay decimated as clouds of golden dust.
Cautiously I sniff the air to make sure none hid in the surrounding foliage. The scent i picked up was similar to my mothers... a goddess. I didn't notice the other monster till I felt the giant cudgel sam into my head, and sent me plowing into a tree with a sickening crack.
I recovered slowly and stood, although shakily. I mentally berated myself for not noticing the cyclops. I was already about to collapse and black out. However, I have to complete my mission mother gave me.
I took a step forward and almost face planted.
The cyclops laughed and bellowed,"Puny wolf no match for strength of cyclops!"
My hackles raised as I let out a terrifying growl, when I felt a presence in my mind.
'Calm noble one, I will end this for your valiant efforts.' a female voice said in my head.
I realized it was the goddess I had scented before. The last image I saw was a silver arrow sprouting out of the cyclops' head and a little girl kneeling in front of me with a concerned look.

Still unknown pov
I floated through the darkness, confused as to why I was still in wolf form. When three foreboding and ancient voices filled my head.
Voice 1'Forbidden child of Lupa and Poseidon.'
Voice 2'You shall be our pawn in the saving of Olympus.'
Voice 3'However, you must first forget.'
Voice 1'Forget your past.'
Voice 2'Forget your present.'
Voice 3'Forget yourself.'
With a sudden sense of dread I realized the voices belonged to the fates.
Clotho, the spinner, who spins the thread of life. Lachesis, the measurer, who choses the lot in life one will have and measures off how long it is to be. Atropos, she who cannot be turned, who at death with her shears cuts the thread of life.
I felt my memories fade and gather into a ball of light, before floating into an outstretched gnarled hand.
'You will wake and protect those who you next see as their guardian, a group of hunters led by Lady Artemis.' The three fates said together.
With those last words I felt my consciousness tug back to my body. When I next awoke, my wolfen body was stiff. I looked around to see I was in a tent. then a question battered its way to the fore front of my mind, 'Who am I?'
