Chapter 3

Jade

Orientation is over and we headed in the cafeteria inside the campus. We're glad the High School department has it's own cafeteria.

We all sat down in the vacant table and the boys started to order our foods. I heard murmurs about Luke and Connor. Well the two boys are cute and lovely. Their both gentle and kind. They don't judge which I like about them. They treat everyone fairly and that's what stand out about the two of them. Well, Luke is some kinda fresh at some point but he's just doing it in front of us. But to others, he's gentle. It's just that he's normal when he's with us. While Connor, I like him. I knew he has a crush on me but he never asked me out. I like him but as a friend only.

"Oh, look at Perrie. Damn! She's hotter than before!" I heard someone said. I tilted my head and saw that she was a girl. Everybody likes Perrie. She's bisexual and I know it. Everybody in this campus likes her. Even girls. Everybody's after her. I don't know why she doesn't have anyone beside her. I mean she's gorgeous and lovely but she doesn't have boyfriend or girlfriend. I wonder why. I know Leigh teases me on her, telling me that Perrie has a crush on me, but I don't believe it. Since she never told it to me. We're close enough. Actually we're almost best friends. But her having a crush on me? I don't think so. There are loads of people here and why would she like me? That's the reason why I don't mind Leigh every time she teases me on Perrie.

"Hey, Jade! Are you okay?" Connor asked me once he sat down next to me. I haven't notice that they already came back.

"I'm fine." I said smiling at him. I saw Leigh and Jesy walking as fast as they can towards us with Leigh's eyebrows knitted.

"I'm in the second section now!" She said in between annoyance and disappointed. "I hate it. That's why I hate enrolling late. I'm gonna kill my brother for going home too late." She complained then sat beside Perrie on the seat.

"Hey, that's fine. At least we're classmates." Jesy brightly said at her.

"Oh yes. That's the good thing. And we have Connor and Luke with us." Leigh said, accepting the fact that we're no longer classmates. Oh yeah. Sometimes the section where you will put in depends the month you enrolled. Even if you have high grades but if you enrolled late and the class 1 is already full, then automatically you'll be on the second. That's what happened to Leigh Anne. But at least she's with Jesy Luke and Connor. That means I'm with Perrie the whole year.

Sometimes it annoys me when I'm with her. Our classmates don't stop on bugging me about her. Asking about her. What does she like. What is she like. Blah blah blah. I'm tired of hearing it. Haven't they know Perrie since we've been classmates since grade 7? That's what annoys me when I'm with her. Why don't just they ask her personally? Why do they have to ask me instead? It's kinda annoying, really.

Perrie

I noticed Jade is kinda zoning out. What's the reason behind?

"Hey, Edwards. Can I get your number now?" One of the seniors said to me. She's on the last section and since freshmen, she's been asking about my number.

I shook my head. "Still?" She said then walk away. I'm sorry, I don't give my number to someone I didn't know. If you're my friend, I'm okay with it. But if you're a stranger, well I'm sorry. I don't give it so easily. Seniors in my school specially those who are in the cheer leading squad usually asks for my number but I don't give it to them. Some of them made their way to find it out by asking my friends but I already told my friends to not give it to them. But some still get it. That's why I almost changed my number.

"Why don't you just give it to her? She's annoying you since grade 7, Perrie. Even me." Jade said in somewhat annoyed tone. Oh yeah. Jade sometimes got involve. They were bugging her but she never gave it to them.

"I just don't. I don't like her." I simply said and she just nodded her head.

"Because she likes you, Jade!" Leigh and Jesy shouted and most of the students in the cafeteria averted their eyes on us.

"Don't shout!" I whiper shouted to them. "Look, they are all looking at us!" I said and they just laugh.

"Perrie has a crush on Jade?" Connor ask while eyeing me. I just didn't answer. I don't know how will she take it. But I do have.

"Yes. Yes. I'm telling you. She has! SHE HAS!" She proudly said. I saw Jade just shook her head and I kinda feel pain in me. She doesn't like me, I guess.

"Well, I guess sooner or later we'll be having a couple in our group. Yes?" Luke said while raising his eyebrow to Leigh and Jesy who happened to nodded their heads to him. They all high fiving themselves and laugh.

"It's time to go back to dorm, I think. Do you guys still have something to do outside?" Jade said. Leigh and Jesy nodded their heads. Luke and Connor too.

"We're going to play basketball, right Con?" Luke said and Con nodded his head.

"Oh I'm going to the boutique near our campus. Jesy will be with me since she needs to buy something." Leigh said. "So it's just you and Jade will be going to dorm." She continued, smirking at us. I caught a glimpse of Jesy and Luke looking at each other too with grins on their faces.

"Better get going. I'm going to fix my things first." I said and Leigh smirk at me. "What?" I asked.

"Nothing, Perrie. Maybe you really want an alone time with Jade." She said and the three of them laugh.

"Leigh!" I shouted at her and they laugh more. I like her. I like Jade and I wouldn't deny it. It's just that I'm afraid of telling it to her. I can see she's not comfortable of me being tease with her. Maybe she doesn't even like me as a lover thing.

After the small talk, we all went outside the cafeteria and me and Jade both headed to the parking lot.

"I'm sorry about, Leigh." I said looking at her.

"It's fine. I know it's kinda joke." She said smiling at me. A joke? She thinks that it's just a joke? No, it isn't. I have a crush on her. I have! "It's a joke right?" She asked, stopping at the car door while looking at me.

I don't know what to say. Should I admit or not? Should I deny it? What if she doesn't take it in a good way? I didnt answer her but she's not getting inside the car. She's still waiting for my answer. I shook my head and she stare at me.

"It isn't a joke?" She asked me and this time I nodded my head. "Okay." She said and finally she hopped in inside my car. She knew now! She knew I have a crush on her. What now?

I hopped in inside my car too. I saw her putting her seat belt. "When?" She asked me once she finished her seat belt.

"Since grade 7." I said and I didn't hear her say any words. "I'm sorry. I kept it in myself. I like you even before but I didn't tell you cause I don't know if you will like it or not. But yeah, here it goes. I have a crush on you, Jade. So if you distance yourse-" she cut me off when she speaks.

"I won't distance myself in you. You're still my friend. It's just that, you should have told me before." She said then turned her eyes on me.

"I'm sorry. I'm just... I'm just afraid." I said and she nodded. "We're still friends right?" I asked her and she nodded.

"Of course. We are still." She said smiling at me. Oh finally, I said it to her. Thanks to Leigh Anne who keeps on teasing me on her. Now she finally know. I don't have to worry about my butterflies. I can now finally show it to her.
