Chapter 8; Goodnight, Falcon
As Hamnet and Olivia left their wonderful first of many dates, Hamnet did all a real gentleman should do (hold doors, use manners, etc). They both decide it would be nice to walk home instead of being cooped up in a stuffy car.
On the way home, Hamnet and Olivia talk about usual thinks like family and friends. This goes on for a while until they are almost home (on the same street actually), and they see a beautiful red tailed hawk. It's dark now so they can't see it that clearly but then it flies over and lands on Olivia's arm. She seems to act as if this were completely normal but this takes Hamnet off guard and leaves him almost stunned. "What?" "That falcon, it just-" "-landed on my arm, yes. I tend to have that affect on animals, not sure why." The large bird allows Hamnet to pet her (which was also surprising) and then flys away.
After the bird leaves, the two reach the house and go their own ways. They soon fall asleep and have wonderful dreams, well Olivia did.
